Quarterbacks

*-Tony Romo practiced today and it appears he will be fine for week 17 despite his hand injury.

*-Tom Brady was held out of practice today to rest a minor injury to his non-throwing shoulder. He'll be fine for week 17 as the Patriots look to lock up the top seed in the AFC with a win.

*-Kevin Kolb is expected to be held out week 17 as he is still having problems associated with the concussion he suffered a few weeks ago. John Skelton will start in his place.

*-Christian Ponder practiced today and that's an indication that he has passed concussion tests and should be okay for this weekend.

Running Backs

*-Darren McFadden was unable to practice today and that's a pretty clear indication that he isn't going to be able to play week 17. Expect Michael Bush to be the feature RB for the Raiders again this week.

*-LeSean McCoy did not practice because of his ankle injury. If he doesn't practice by Friday I'd be wary trusting him in any fantasy lineups this week.

*-Jackie Battle is not expected to be able to play week 17 because of a foot injury. Thomas Jones likely gets the primary RB role this week with a little more of Dexter McCluster and Le'Ron McClain sprinkled in.

*-Reggie Bush didn't practice today but he is expected to be okay for this week.

*-Detroit's Kevin Smith practiced in full today but whether he'll be active this week is in question. It was thought at the beginning of the week that Smith would be rested so he could heal up the ankle injury that he's been playing thru. Now that seems less sure and maybe he will play this week. Just another reason why you shouldn't have your fantasy championship in week 17.

*-Roy Helu was able to put in a limited practice today and appears on track to play this week, but like I said yesterday, don't be surprised if Helu plays behind Evan Royster this week as Helu isn't fully recovered from his knee and toe injuries.

*-Marion Barber was unable to practice because of his calf injury and his status for this week is very uncertain. At best, he'd be a backup to Kahlil Bell and therefore has no fantasy value.

*-Amongst RB's who either didn't practice or were limited, but are currently expected to be okay for this week include the Chargers Ryan Mathews, the Giants Ahmad Bradshaw, the Cowboys Felix Jones, the Titans Chris Johnson, and the Browns Peyton Hillis.

Wide Receivers

*-Hakeem Nicks is expected to be okay for week 17 despite having a minor hamstring strain. Mario Manningham is also expected to be okay for this week despite issues with his lingering knee injury.

*-The Texans say that they are hoping to get Andre Johnson into this weekend's game but not for a full amount of snaps. Johnson is expected to be on a limited play count which means he's a very dicey fantasy bet for this week.

*-Vincent Jackson missed practice with his groin injury and his status for this week is very uncertain.

*-Green Bay has officially ruled Greg Jennings out for this week. They may also be without Randall Cobb. Cobb missed practice today with a groin injury. It's not believed to be serious but the Packers may play it safe with their star kick returner.

*-Pittsburgh expects to have Emmanuel Sanders back this week. Sanders has been missing time the last few weeks with an aggravation of a preseason foot injury, but he is expected to get some game action this week to help shake off some rust before the playoffs start.

*-Amongst WR's who were either limited or missed practice but are fully expected to be fine for week 17 include Detroit's Calvin Johnson, Cincinnati's A.J. Green, Miami's Brandon Marshall, Atlanta's Julio Jones, Pittsburgh's Mike Wallace, Oakland's Jacoby Ford, and Cleveland's Mohamed Massaquoi.

Tight Ends

*-Jermichael Finley is now expected to sit out week 17 because of a minor knee injury. It isn't anything to be concerned about but with no reason not to rest their starting TE this week, the Packers will sit him.

*-Anthony Fasano practiced today and appears to have passed his concussion tests. He should be able to play this week.

*-Dallas Clark has returned to practice and is now expected to play this week for the Colts despite having a neck injury.

*-Jake Ballard was unable to practice today and his status for Sunday night's game is very uncertain.

*-Rumor out of Minnesota is that the Vikings may decide to use TE/HB Jim Kleinsasser as a goal line RB week 17. Kleinsasser is expected to retire after this season and has spent all 13 years of his career with the Vikings and they may want to have him go out on a high note.

Kickers

*-Buffalo placed Dave Rayner on injured reserve but failed to designate what the exact nature of his injury was. Rayner had replaced Rian Lindell who was placed on IR a few weeks ago. They signed Brandon Coutu to kick week 17 for them.

“I have been playing fantasy football for 4 years and before I never made the playoffs with other service I had, but with you guys I was high point total last year and won it all and this year high point again. I owe it all too you guys” Kevin first year member

“I have been a member for the past 2 years. Last year I placed 3rd and this year...well I am the 2009 League Champ! I do have to say though, the best thing I got out of FFS was the weekly Fantasy Alerts sent directly to my email. I had a few guys compliment me on my waiver wire pickups. Another said, "You only won because of FFS."” Josh second year member
