Quarterbacks

*-Matt Stafford suffered an ankle injury week 7 and his status for week 8 is currently uncertain. It's believed that he will be okay to start, but if he can't Shaun Hill would get the nod. Tentatively expect Stafford to be fine.

*-Matt Ryan's ankle injury looked a whole lot worse than it turned out to be. Ryan and the Falcons are on bye this week and he should be just fine when he returns week 9.

*-It's too early in the week to know if Sam Bradford will be able to start for St. Louis this week or not. Bradford missed week 7 because of a high ankle sprain and that's usually a 2-4 week injury. We should know later in the week whether Bradford or A.J. Feeley will be starting for the Rams.

*-Seattle expects to have Tarvaris Jackson back this week. Jackson missed last week with a pectoral injury and while he'll need to get thru practices this week, it's sounding like he will be able to play. If he can't, Charlie Whitehurst, who looked absolutely brutal this week, would get the start again.

*-Ben Roethlisberger sustained a knee injury week 7 but it's believed to be minor and not something that will prevent him from starting this week against New England.

*-Tim Tebow's last 5 minutes heroics saved him from being benched. Tebow was simply awful for the first 55 minutes of the game this past weekend but his amazing last 5 minutes saved him from a trip back to the bench.

*-Miami's Matt Moore suffered a rib injury week 7 but he is expected to be okay to start week 8. His backup is now J.P. Losman, who was signed earlier today. Losman replaces Sage Rosenfels who was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football injury list and his season is done.

*-Also done for the year is Kerry Collins. The Colts placed him on injured reserve today. Guess it's the Curtis Painter/Dan Orlovsky show going forward in Indianapolis.

Running Backs

*-Darren McFadden suffered a foot injury week 7 and it's a good thing the Raiders have the bye this week or he might not have been able to play. It's hoped that the bye will be enough time for it to heal up, but this is a reminder of McFadden's injury history and if Michael Bush is available, McFadden owners need to get him as the handcuff to McFadden.

*-Tim Hightower suffered a torn ACL and his season is done. Ryan Torain is expected to step in as the primary rushing down RB and Roy Helu solidifies his spot as the change of pace and 3rd down RB.

*-Earnest Graham tore his Achilles tendon and his season is done. Tampa Bay is on bye and they hope to have LeGarrette Blount back when they return in week 9. If not, Kregg Lumpkin would likely be the starter.

*-Beanie Wells suffered a knee injury and he's expected to miss at least 1 game and possibly a couple. Alfonso Smith likely will lead a RBBC for Arizona that will include La'Rod Stephens-Howling and Chester Taylor. Smith is a poor pickup this week with a tough matchup against Baltimore.

*-Willis McGahee suffered a fractured hand injury and he will miss 2-3 weeks. Knowshon Moreno becomes the primary RB for Denver and it's expected we'll also see Lance Ball get 5-10 carries per game until McGahee returns. If someone dropped Moreno in your league, it's time to go get him as he'll get 15-20 touches for the short term.

*-Marshawn Lynch wasn't inactive week 7 but he didn't play because of a back injury that flared up just before the game. It's unknown if this is an old injury or something new. Hopefully we'll get an update on him later in the week. If Lynch can't play week 8 Leon Washington would be the primary RB and split time with Justin Forsett. Neither is an attractive acquisition though.

*-Tashard Choice suffered a shoulder injury and his status for week 8 is questionable at best. DeMarco Murray is fully expected to start in place of Felix Jones again this week and be the primary RB for Dallas with Phillip Tanner serving as his backup. I hope you listened last week when I said Murray was a priority pickup at RB.

*-Mike Tolbert suffered both hand and hamstring injuries this past weekend, but both are believed to be minor and he is currently expected to be fine for the Monday night matchup San Diego has against Kansas City this week.

*-Mark Ingram suffered a bruised heel injury and his status for week 8 is uncertain. It's speculated he should be fine but we won't know until we see if he is practicing this week or not. Any loss in playing time for him would seriously increase the values of both Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas in the dream matchup against the Rams awful run defense.

*-No word yet on whether Jahvid Best will be able to play this week or not, but I expect him to be sat out again. Best missed week 7 with a concussion, his second in the last 3 months, and with Detroit having the bye in week 9 it would be wise and prudent for them to just sit Best until week 10 so he has a full 3 weeks to recover from it. I expect Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams to again split up the rushing duties for the Lions this week against Denver.

*-Also no word yet on whether Peyton Hillis will be able to play week 8 or not. Hillis missed week 7 with a hamstring injury and while Montario Hardesty didn't light the world on fire, he was surprisingly durable and efficient. A split between the two RB's is likely if Hillis is active.

*-Brandon Jacobs is expected back for the Giants this week after missing the last few games with a knee injury. His return could put a crimp in the high upside of Ahmad Bradshaw.

*-Remember, Cedric Benson is serving a one game suspension week 8. Benson will return to his normal featured role in week 9 but for this week, Bernard Scott draws the start and will be the primary RB while splitting some time with Brian Leonard.

*-Packers rookie RB Alex Green suffered a knee injury and his season is over. Unless you play in a dynasty league, Green can be dropped.

Wide Receivers

*-Too early in the week to know for sure but Houston says it hopes to have Andre Johnson back this week. We'll see what the practice reports say as this would be a week earlier than originally slated for but we'll keep an eye on this as if Johnson plays, you'll want him in your starting lineups.

*-Santana Moss will miss the next 5-7 weeks with a fractured hand injury. Jabar Gaffney becomes the likely #1 WR and Anthony Armstrong should step in as the starter opposite Gaffney. We could also see some more of Terrence Austin and rookie Niles Paul. Fellow rookie Leonard Hankerson is also a candidate to get some extra playing time finally.

*-Greg Jennings suffered a bruised hand injury week 7 but he played the entire game with it and with the week off he'll be fine when the Packers return from their bye.

*-Rams WR Danario Alexander suffered a hamstring injury and his status for week 8 is uncertain. If he can't play it may mean that Brandon Gibson gets back into the starting lineup. Gibson had been starting but was made a healthy inactive last week because he simply didn't produce much despite having been the starter all season.

*-Cleveland's Mohamed Massaquoi is likely to miss week 8 because of a concussion suffered week 7. It's not official yet but it's expected that Josh Cribbs will step in and get the start this week opposite Greg Little.

*-Hines Ward is considered questionable for week 8 with an ankle sprain. I doubt the Steelers will push Ward to play as they really do have 2 better WR's in Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders to step up and replace him. With a shootout against the Patriots likely both Brown and Sanders should be acquired if available.

*-Malcom Floyd suffered a hip injury and it's unknown if he'll be able to play this week or not.

*-Percy Harvin aggravated his ribs injury this past weekend and his status for week 8 is unknown at this time. In other Vikings WR news, they finally released Bernard Berrian today. Devin Aromashodu steps in as the starter replacing Berrian and could very well be the best fantasy producing WR the Vikings will have going forward if Harvin were to miss any games.

*-San Francisco is hoping to get Braylon Edwards back this week. Edwards has been out the last few weeks with a knee injury. If he's able to play, he likely would replace Ted Ginn as the starter opposite Michael Crabtree.

*-Tennessee's Damien Williams suffered what is believed to have been a very minor concussion week 7 and he should be able to play week 8.

Tight Ends

*-Antonio Gates appeared to get thru week 7 without aggravating his foot injury. Practice reports this week will tell if he can be relied on again week 8 or not but for now, he is considered likely to be alright.

*-Chris Cooley was placed on injured reserve today by Washington. His season is over and Fred Davis solidifies his place amongst the top 8 fantasy TE's going forward.

*-Ben Watson's status for week 8 is uncertain after he suffered a concussion week 7. If Watson were to miss the game we'd finally get a chance to see pass catching TE Evan Moore get a lot of playing time. Moore is a guy TE needy teams should stash now if he's available as he has freakish athletic skills.

*-Kevin Boss suffered a minor concussion week 7 but with Oakland on bye this week he should be fine when they return in week 9.

*-It's unknown if Todd Heap will return week 8 or not. Heap has missed the last couple of games with a hamstring injury.

Kickers

*-Oakland released kicker Dave Rayner. Rayner was signed late last week to replace Sebastian Janikowski after Janikowski suffered a hamstring injury in practice but the injury turned out to be minor and he is fully expected to be fine to kick when the Raiders return from their bye.
