Quarterbacks

*-Ben Roethlisberger is expected to start week 14 for Pittsburgh, providing he can get through practices this week and prove he has his arm strength back. We should know for sure by Thursday.

*-Philadelphia named Nick Foles their starting QB the rest of the season regardless of whether Michael Vick gets over his concussion or not.

*-No word yet on who will start for the Arizona Cardinals this week. If Kevin Kolb is healthy enough to return from his shoulder injury, he will start, but that's not known at this time. If Kolb can't go, the Cardinals can either go back to John Skelton, or give rookie Ryan Lindley another chance. But after Lindley went an absurd 0-15 on 3rd downs in week 13, it boggles the mind to think he'd get the chance.

*-Also no word yet on who will start for the New York Jets. It's either going to be Mark Sanchez, who has been brutally bad in recent games, or it will be Greg McElroy. Tim Tebow doesn't appear to figure into the mix because of a ribs injury that supposedly isn't that bad.

*-San Francisco is sticking with Colin Kaepernick as their starting QB despite the 49ers having lost to division rival St. Louis week 13.

Running Backs

*-Darren McFadden is expected to return to the staring lineup for Oakland Thursday night. McFadden was close to playing week 13, but will definitely return this week and get the start. He'll be backed up by Mike Goodson, who's also returning from an ankle injury. Marcel Reece, who had been filling in while McFadden and Goodson were out, is expected to miss the game because of hamstring and quad injuries. Reece has probably lost most, if not all, of his fantasy value and can be replaced on rosters.

*-Pittsburgh will stick with Jonathan Dwyer as their lead RB. Rashard Mendenhall was inactive week 13 and that could be the way it goes the rest of the season.

*-Too early in the week to know if LeSean McCoy will be able to return from his concussion and play in week 14 or not. But given that Bryce Brown has been outstanding in McCoy's absence, there's a good chance the Eagles will hold McCoy out one more week. That's just my guess though.

*-Jonathan Stewart is not currently expected to be able to play week 14 because of the injuries he has to both ankles. DeAngelo Williams likely will start and be the primary RB again for Carolina.

*-It's unknown if the ankle injury Donald Brown suffered week 13 is serious enough to make him miss week 14 or not. For right now, consider him questionable. Even if he does play, it's likely he's fallen behind Vick Ballard as the primary RB for the Colts.

*-Jacksonville appears to have lost another RB. Rashad Jennings suffered a concussion week 13 and his status for week 14 is in doubt. With Maurice Jones-Drew expected to miss week 14 as well because of his lingering foot injury, the Jaguars are down to Montell Owens as their primary RB, backed up by Richard Murphy and Jordan Todman. Owens could be an acquisition for the truly desperate.

Wide Receivers

*-Jordy Nelson suffered a hamstring injury week 13 and while it's not believed to be a serious injury, he is not expected to play week 14. Expect James Jones to recover fantasy value as one of the three primary WR's for the Packers, along with Greg Jennings and Randall Cobb.

*-Ryan Broyles was placed on injured reserve by Detroit after he tore his ACL in week 13. Broyles' season is done and he should only be held onto in dynasty leagues.

*-Detroit placed Titus Young on injured reserve today supposedly because of a knee issue.  But he's just completely unwanted by the team after he purposely lined up incorrectly back in week 11. Young was deactivated in both weeks 12 and 13, and the team didn't want him back even with their injuries at the position. Mike Thomas steps in as the starter opposite Calvin Johnson and he could make a smart grab for the WR needy heading into the fantasy playoffs. Also in the mix for some WR playing time are Brian Robiskie and Kris Durham.

*-Cecil Shorts suffered what is believed to have been a concussion week 13 and his status for week 14 is uncertain. It's hoped to be minor and we should know more by Thursday.

*-Too early in the week to know if Minnesota will have Percy Harvin back this week or not. Harvin's been out several weeks now because of a bad ankle injury.

*-Julian Edelman is likely heading to injured reserve for the Patriots after he suffered a broken foot week 13. Feel free to drop him. New England re-signed Donte Stallworth on Monday to provide WR depth.

*-Sidney Rice is expected to be fine for week 14 after he suffered a mild concussion week 13. Unless I hear otherwise, I expect Rice will play this week without issue.

*-Steve Johnson tweaked his hamstring in week 13 and while believed to be minor, we'll have to see how much he does in practices this week to gauge whether he's in any jeopardy of not playing week 14. I tentatively expect him to be okay.

*-Brandon LaFell suffered a foot injury week 13 and his status for week 14 is very uncertain. Right now it appears that LaFell won't be able to play. If he can't, Louis Murphy likely would start in his place.

*-Mario Manningham suffered a shoulder injury week 13 and his status for this week is in doubt. Not that Manningham was a meaningful fantasy consideration anyway. Your starting lineups shouldn't be affected.

*-Earl Bennett suffered a concussion and he is unlikely to play week 14. With the Bears expected to welcome back Alshon Jeffery to the starting lineup this week after he missed the last two weeks recovering from a minor knee injury, Bennett's loss isn't a big fantasy deal.

*-Also not likely to be a big fantasy deal is the hamstring injury suffered by Tennessee's Damien Williams. His status for week 14 is uncertain but as the Titans #4 WR this shouldn't hurt fantasy teams.

*-Seattle released Braylon Edwards. Edwards was buried on the depth chart and fantasy irrelevant anyway.

Tight Ends

*-Dustin Keller suffered an ankle injury week 13 and his status for week 14 is uncertain. Between any injury that could limit him at all and the horrible state f affairs at QB for the Jets, there's no reason Keller should come off fantasy benches this week.

*-Arizona released Todd Heap today. Heap hadn't played since week 2 when he sprained his knee. Even though he'd been practicing the last several weeks he was inactive on game days. The development of Rob Housler made Heap expendable.

*-Oakland's Brandon Myers has a shoulder injury, but it's not serious and it isn't expected to limit him at all in Thursday night's game.

*-Houston's Garrett Graham suffered a concussion week 13 and his status for week 14 is in question. It's unlikely this affects many people at all.
