Picking The Right Players in a Fantasy Football League

One of the most difficult things in a fantasy football draft is picking the right players. It sounds easy at first, but when you think about it, there are hundreds of players, and filling your roster with the right players is more than just knowing the top players in every position.

Running a fantasy team is more than just knowing the stats. You have to be a fan and you have to understand the game. Take the NFC West division for example. Start with the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks' obviously lack any players that would place near the top of fantasy football player rankings in 2011. With mediocre options like running back Marshawn Lynch and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck there's no definite fantasy football starters here. But what about the rest of the roster? Who is the best pick up from their group of receivers? Mike Williams had a good season after being out of the league for a couple of years, and tight end John Carlson could be a fantasy football sleeper, but otherwise there's not much.

The San Francisco 49ers made several strides last season, and should have several players that could rank highly on our fantasy football league software program. RB Frank Gore, TE Vernon Davis, and WR Michael Crabtree all should be starters on fantasy rosters.

The Cardinals also have a couple of intriguing fantasy football league players. Quarterback is a question mark, but Larry Fitzgerald is still a top WR. Beanie Wells cold be a prime fantasy football sleeper in 2011. But it's hard to trust anyone else. Fitzgerald had a down year but could be a great value pick if he's being low on fantasy football player rankings this year.

“I have been a member for the past 2 years. Last year I placed 3rd and this year...well I am the 2009 League Champ! I do have to say though, the best thing I got out of FFS was the weekly Fantasy Alerts sent directly to my email. I had a few guys compliment me on my waiver wire pickups. Another said, "You only won because of FFS."” Josh second year member
