Dear Registered User:
NFL rookies are turning in unprecedented performances
(by fantasy football standards) thus far in 2006. Three rookie
Quarterbacks will start in Week Five. No less than six rookie
Running Backs have made such solid contributions early in the season
that they must now be considered for starting positions, yet none are
their team's featured Running Back. Read on for more rookie analysis,
plus all of the news and picks you've come to expect from Fantasy Football

And the Sleeper Is…
Rookie RBs and QBs to Watch
Here are several rookie rushers already having an impact in 2006:
- Reggie Bush: More receiving yards (193 on 24 receptions)
than rushing yards (141 on 44 carries and a 3.2 avg) but no TDs- yet.
McAllister has 3 TDs and 257 rush yds on 64 carries (4.0 avg).
- Laurence Maroney: 60 carries, 294 yards, 4.9 avg,
3 TDs, 6 rec, 76 yds. Taking over as the primary RB in New England?
Not just a speed guy, but also a powerful runner. Does Dillon still
have a role of Maroney continues to be this impressive? (Dillon's
stats 58 carries, 236 yds, 4.1 avg, 2 TDs, 2 rec, 22 yds)
- DeAngelo Williams: 25 carries, 135 yds, 5.4 avg,
1 TD, 7 rec, 41 yds. Playing second fiddle to DeShaun Foster (64 carries,
267 yds, 4.2 avg, 1 TD, 10 rec, 50 yds) but has shown big play potential.
Looked like he was going to take over 2 weeks ago, but Foster held
onto primary job. Does Williams get a chance soon to supplant him?
- Joseph Addai: 46 carries, 207 yards, 4.5 avg, 1
TD, 11 rec, 72 yds, 1 TD. Slowly but surely taking over for Dominic
Rhodes (59 rushes, 189 yds, 3.2 avg, 3 TDs, 5 rec, 36 yds)? Got more
rushes then Rhodes in tough game vs. Jets this past week.
- Jerious Norwood: 26 carries, 217 yds, a whopping
8.3 yds per carry avg, 1 TD, 1 rec, 12 yds. Has looked explosive with
a couple of big runs this season. Warrick Dunn is the starter (82
rushes, 365 yds, 4.5 avg, 4 rec, 22 yds, 0 TDs) but Norwood is bigger,
and faster.
- Maurice (Jones-) Drew: 20 rushes, 118 yds, 5.9
avg, 0 rush TDs, 9 rec, 91 yds, 2 rec TDs. The loss of Greg Jones
opened the door for someone to spell Fred Taylor and Drew has filled
that role beyond expectation. Taylor (71 carries, 256 yds, 3.6 avg,
1 TD, 11 rec, 76 yds) is known for being injury prone so Drew could
get a chance to be more full time. But at 5'7", 205 lbs, can he withstand
the pounding and will his numbers hold up if asked to assume a bigger
role?
And 3 (count 'em) three QBs are getting the starting
nod in Week 5:
- Vince Young: A surprise start last week as Jeff
Fisher had said he was sticking with Collins. Players spoke out in
favor of Young and owner Bud Adams supposedly told Fisher he wanted
Young to start as well. Team will be behind in a lot of games so will
we are going to keep an eye on Young to see how this impacts his supporting
casts fantasy football value!
- Matt Leinart: Gets first career start vs. Kansas
City this week. Matchup isn't good, but for the rest of the season
its going to be very interesting to see how his presence will impact
the fantasy value of: Edgerrin James, Lary Fitzgerald, and Anquan
Boldin.
- Bruce Gradkowski: Takes over for Chris Simms and
starts for Tampa Bay at New Orleans. Bucs offense has been woeful.
Will Gradkowski hold onto this job or is he just keeping the seat
warm till Rattay or Luke McCown take over? And how does this bode
for the other Bucs skill players?

of rookie WRs making some noise, listen to this
week's podcast or catch Russ's radio shows this weekend.
Week 4 Hits and Misses
The hits just keep on coming. We were dead-on the numbers with a couple
of QB picks, (Culpepper and McNabb), but didn't predict Mark Brunell's
above average performance vs. the Jaguars. Read on for more Power
Line-Up Analyzer (PLA) hits and misses in Week 4.

And the Sleeper Is…
This week's Super Sleeper is Joe Klopfenstein, TE,
St. Louis Rams. He only has 4 receptions for 57 yards and 1 TD on the
season, but the Rams are starting to figure out Linehan's passing offense
and the TE position has always enjoyed a lot of success in Linehan's
previous systems. You heard it here first! Hear more on the FFS
Podcast, available every week on Fantasy Football Starters.com.
