In 10 team keeper, start QB, 2RB, 3WR-TE, K, DST. Decimal scoring (0.1pt for 1yd rush-rec and 0.1pt for 2yd passing) plus we get 2pts for every 10yds of a rush-rec TD and 1pt for every 10yds of a passing TD. We keep 6 from prior yr.
I'm leaning toward McGahee, OchoCinco, Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, Holmes, Bowe. Also have Selvin, Jerricho, Witten and Winslow (but TEs are not really drafted in this league, so may be able to grab 1 of em later).
RB inuries didnt help (Deuce, Cadillac, Maroney) so relied on waiver most wks for RB2. Recently traded Maroney for Holmes. Probably not smart move eh? But based on Holmes increased production from yr1 to yr2, this should be nice third yr jump?
Since thin at RB, figured keep 5 WRs and concentrate on RBs early and often. I have 2nd pick in each round, so could grab McFadden in first round based on draft patterns of owner ahead of me, but I know McF will not be there in round 2. Can grab some of the other Rookie RBs who hopefully get bulk of teams carries (Smith, Forte, Stewart, Johnson).
Also, was recently offered T Jones and pick 4 in round 2 for Roy Williams. Ive been reluctant with Williams looking for big payday this year, but with Favre moving to NY, is this trade wise? It would leave me with picks 2, 12 and 14 in first 2 rounds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There's a lot of options there. Here is my opinion. First off I would trade Williams for Jones, unless you are in a PPR. That extra round 2 pick could really pay off! Then keep Jones, Mcgahee, Ocho, Calvin Johnson, Holmes and Jerricho. You may also find some value in a trade for Jerricho while the Farve hype is high. Then I would look to draft either Forte or Stewart in the draft. I think that these guys will have greater fantasy impact this year than Mcfadden...although Mcfadden COULD work out better in years to come. I assume that you do not have a QB worth consideration. That is my opinion for what it is worth... Good luck!

I'd take that deal for Thomas Jones since you need the RB and you already have Calvin Johnson and other solid WR's. Roy is looking for a big payday, but having both Lions WR's isn't nearly as important as having the RB. Plus, I think TJ is going to bounce back with a much better 2008 than he had last season. Having a QB who can throw the ball will help him a lot.

I may also keep Witten even though you don't have to start a TE since Witten is the top TE this year. Historically, the top TE ranks around 20th overall when WR's and TE's count as one position. That means he produces like a good WR2.

If Kevin Smith is there in round 2, he would be a very good choice.

Well the owner of T Jones pulled back the offer before I had a chance to accept. Now McG is in doubt for wk 1? Casay was right, my only QB is Warner and the next closest RB would be Selvin (also have M Bush, D Walker, K Watson, Kolby Smith). Do I hang in there with McG plus 5 WR/TE? Guess I should try to trade with someone else to get a 2nd RB...any advise on RBs to target in an equitable trade for Roy Williams?

Is every team in your league as stacked at WR as you are?

It seems that you have a much greater need at RB and QB than at WR, and it also appears that your league-mates don't place such an emphasis on having great depth at WR since you have easily 7 guys who could start. Coupled with McG's potential season-long injury concern, and I now have to say you need to keep Young in addition to McG just so you have the depth.

Keep trying to work a deal for a RB though as you have the WR's to give. You dont need both Lions WR's so offer up Roy Williams. There are a lot of people who expect him to break out this season since it is a contract year for him. But he's had some problems staying healthy for an entire season and I think Calvin Johnson is likely to put up stats really close to his this season. I know it's hard to do, but shop Chad Johnson and see what you get offered. Shop Bowe. Find the Dallas fan in your league (every league has at least one) and see if they might want Witten. Offer package deals on your WR's/TE's and see if you can get good value in return at RB or even QB. Cotchery had 82 catches for over 1,100 yards (but only 2 TD's) last season with lousy QB's throwing him the ball. Try to sell the Favre factor with him. You can only keep 6 guys, and right now, it's looking like you'll be dropping 2 TE's who both produce like WR2's, and two WR's from likely Cotchery, Bowe, or Calvin Johnson. But I'd plenty happy to keep those guys if a trade could happen that nets you a RB at the expense of Chad or Roy Williams.

Trading Maroney for Holmes wasn't a great move considering your RB weaknesses, but I agree with you about Holmes being a potential breakout candidate this year.

For your draft, get that RB in round 1, and in round 2 hope that Kevin Smith is still there, or maybe even handcuff Ray Rice to McG.

Right now, I'd say you have to keep:

McG, Selvin Young, Chad, Holmes, Roy Williams and one of the others (Calvin Johnson's my pick, but only because you would still have him if a deal for Roy Williams can be done; you'll never want to start both Lions WR's.).

Looks like the other owner will give me T Jones plus his 4th pick in 2nd round (#14 overall) for R Williams and my 2nd pick, 5th round (#42 overall).  Sound fair?  I also floated Williams & Cotchery to the Detroit fan for Addai and Williams & Witten to Romo's owner, but neither have responded yet.  Should I just take the Jones deal and run?

Thanks for your advice...  Here's what has transpired...I received Addai & ARI DST for Roy Williams & Jerricho Cotchery.  This will leave me with: Addai, McGahee, Ocho Cinco, Holmes, Calvin & Bowe.  At this point I still have Selvin Young, Witten, Winslow, & Reggie Brown to exchange for Bowe if necessary...  What da ya think?

I think this worked out well for you. Good move getting Addai!
