Usually the last guy I would tend to agree with is Dan Bickley but boy oh boy he echoed my sentiments about the Leinart contract impasse in today's edition of the Republic . Read it before you think that the Cards are doing everything they can to get their future franchise QB into camp . Then consider the scintillatig performance that Navarre displayed yesterday and tell me that they don't need to get moving . I love Warner as a player and a person but c'mon guys , does anyone really believe he makes it through the season without getting hurt ?

You're absolutely right Bob, the Cardinals need Leinart on the roster and surely he will be playing before season end and Warner is injury prone. Both sides need to come to an agreement and with the history of sports agents (and the Cards - don't get me wrong) I don't think it's one sided. They need to do what they can ASAP to get him on the field in the pre-season and it's a poor display on both sides that it hasn't happened yet. Perhaps with the revenues from the first sold out Cards game in... God knows when, they'll be able to give him some bonus they're waiting for.

Both parties need to to be soon and the fans can only sit, wait and judge.

Don't want you guys to think that I'm getting away from fantasy talk but this definitely could affect your team if you pick up one of several strong players from the Cardinal arsenal . Would you feel confident if you have Fitz , Quan or Edge and Warner goes down and Navarre is handed the reins ? They are all great players that I would strongly consider drafting in a couple of weeks but their value would drop for me I think if Navarre is the trigger of that offense . Denny is saying all the right things in public regarding the Leinart situation but I would bet that privately this is driving him crazy .

You are absolutely right Bob, I brought up the same point several weeks ago. Now with Ross missing up to ten weeks on the o-line, Warner's protection is that much weaker.

I hate to say it but I am. Same old sorry-ass Cardinals.

There you are , James !! Glad you chimed in !! Respect your opinion and thoughts immensely . Yeah , you called it right a couple of weeks ago . O-Line , O-line and O-line . 32 carries for 57 yards . But remember that our esteemed guru ( mean that with all due respect ,Russ ) informed us that Emmitt ran for 900 and change with a worse line and all offseason I heard that their line was not going to be a major problem like last year with the addition of Edge . I didn't buy it then and I'm not buying now . It is a very real concern and in my opinion was not addressed adequately .
Now tell me about your boy with the cycling outfit . Is he joining the Cowboys or a Peleton with Lance ? You can already see the agitation starting to show on Tuna's face . What they need to do with him while he is recovering from his hammy problem is send him over to Beirut with Condi Rice and have him do situps on a bombed out street while reading excerpts from his book and threaten to do so until the fighting stops . Even the folks in the middle east wouldn't want to be subjected to that 24/7 and this conflict will end abruptly . Just having a major figure like him doing something as pedestrian as playing football is not fully utilizing his mass appeal .

One more thing , James . Jump in on the River's topic that I started because I also remember how down you were on him a few weeks ago and your concern with drafting Gates and LT this year . Realize that it is early but can you see any redeeming qualities in him upon further review ?

Bob- Guy's your business men and successful at it. Once he is signed, we are all going to forget about this. Candidly, do you blame Leinart for being somewhat cautious with this organization. We are talkinga six year deal. Compare this to what happened to Jake - boy he took them for a ton of dough. He goes out and signs quickly as a second round pick, wins one game - Dallas, signs an extension for 11 million guaranteed. That was it - After that he sucked.
My point is both sides are scared to get bit in the butt, so they are taking their time one if its a six year deal: what are the outs - to Leinarts benefits and outs to the Cards benefits. Therefore, escalator clauses and the timing of those. The time he is missing does hurt, but this deal is not about this season, this deal is about the future. Stay tuned!

Poor Terrell,

He is suffering from acute I-am-too-lazy-to perform-in-training camp--itis, so I will make up phony hamstring issue that mysteriously does not show up on any MRI. HMMMMMM! Terrell, the king of B.S!!! He might cause the Tuna to resign by mid season. Or push him into more heart trouble. Jerry Jones deserves T.O.-- They are a marriage made for ego's!!!

I am not to dissappointed by the lack of a Cardinal rushing attack against the Steel curtain. Their passing attack looks great, and their anemic underachievers on the o-line can pass block for some strange reason. But lets be honest here, Warner has to remain healthy the entire year now for the team to compete. Edge is no longer the guy that will take them to the promise land called the playoffs, it has to be Warner, because Leinart will be a non-factor this year if he does not get his butt into training camp to learn. Navarre reminds me of one of those robotic figures at Disneyland next to the talking Lincoln figure. Why is he in Phoenix anyway?

Let's all pray that Billy boy will loosen his purse strings and his laderhousen and fork over the dough to his future OB.

I will comment on River's tommorrow. I am preparing for 6 drafts in the next two weeks.

Still daydreaming in challenging Russ in an expert league someday.

Portis who???
