What is to be surmised from the rumors that have been swirling around the last couple of days that Romo might supplant Bledsoe as starting QB . Peter King came on at halftime of the Seattle and Indy game today and said that it is being considered and at the very least Bledsoe might get a quick hook if he falters . I personally believe it although being a Giants fan I would prefer Bledsoe keeping his job because we know exactly where he will be in the pocket . Meanwhile Bledsoe has been touted as a sleeper QB and top ten QB possibility in fantasy circles for months since the TO signing . That is why I question these very early drafts that many of you seem to be participating in and I don't mean Mocks . What the bleep do you do if he gets beat out by Romo ? You are now scrambling to pick up Romo and the season is still 2 weeks away.
I'll throw out another scenario which may seem far-fetched but I have observed and could see happening .Matt Schaub runs the Falcon offense better than Vick !! Blasphemy , you might say , but the guy gets the ball to his wideouts (which Vick continues to struggle to do ) , he's 6ft 5in with decent mobility , a great arm and brains to boot . I don't care if Vick is Mr.Excitement and one of the faces of the NFL . He's average at best fantasy wise and his understudy moves his offense better than he does . This is not just one game , this is becoming more apparent since last season . It's the head coach's job to put out the guy that gives the team the best chance of winning and I think it is our task as ardent fantasy players to rely on what we see and not what some fantasy rag mag says in June . What if six of the guys you drafted in late July or early August are now benchwarmers ? How stupid is that to rely on information that has not taken the preseason into consideration ?

Vick sells too many jerseys and is too exciting to watch for him to not be the guy. Schaub is the better qb, but he only gets his shot because of a Vick injury.

I laughed when I heard Peter King talking at halftime about Romo playing and Bledsoe being sat. Yeah. Bill Parcells is going to just sit the veteran Bledsoe and give the starting job to a guy who's never thrown a pass in a regular season game all because he's more mobile. King's a hack and the worst part of the NBC broadcast. He and Kornholio on Monday nights are proof that executives care more about getting someone with name recognition than getting someone who is actually good.

So if Mora Jr decides that Schaub gives the Falcons a better chance of WINNING , his hands will be tied because Vick sells lots of jerseys ? And King's assertion was completely baseless and without merit ? He decided to stir some bleep up and see what happens ? You are the Cowboy fan and I'll defer to you since I know that you have your finger on the pulse of what's happening but I will say this ; I don't know if Mora has the gonads to make that move but if Parcells really believes that Romo gives him a better shot at winning , he won't hesitate to pull Bledsoe .

Politics play a part in decsisions all the time in the NFL. And while Schaub is the better passer, whether he gives them the beter chance to win games is in question. Schaub doesn't have Vick's natural athletic ability and without those abilities, the Falcons would have probably lost some games they have won in the past. It's hard to say for sure, but it can't be ignored that Vick helps sell out games for Atlanta whether they win or not. If he loses a bunch, that'll stop, but he doesn't lose a lot. Doesn't win a lot, but doesn't lose a lot.

As for the Romo/Bledsoe debate, this is so much like in training camp 1990 for the Giants. Remember Phil Simms/Jeff Hostetler? The then 35 year old Simms was basically a statue in the pocket and there was a young, mobile, but inexperienced Hostetler in the wings and winning confidence in the coaching staff. Well, season played out with Simms as the starter all year until getting injured late in the season and being replaced by Hoss. We all know what happened after that, so a history lesson is unnecessary. But it took that injury to get Hoss on the field. That's how it'll likely be with Bledsoe/Romo.

Bledsoe is a Parcells Guy! Maybe a quick hook, but that's the case for any QB over 35 years old. It will be good to watch for now, but when the real season starts, these Vets seem to get allot faster, accurate and better - real quick!

I am "a Cowboys fan"??? I had no clue. Guess I need to buy a piece (any piece by the way would be my first) of their paraphenalia.
Where did you get this idea, bob? That would be like my stating you're a Virginia fan and a Va Tech hater because of the love affair you have with Schaub and how much you seem to hate Vick.
As you can see, there's no basis for me to say something like that, and I think your bizarre conclusion, bob, can only come from the fact I said something true you weren't ready to hear. I was being flip in the jersey comment, but the point was that Blank has too much invested in Vick, and is getting too good a return on it financially for him to make a change unless there's a very good reason. And Vick hasn't provided that reason yet.
I have to admit though: How about Bledsoe's performance tonight and Jerry Jones implying this whole situation of a qb controversy was blown way out of proportion?
I'm not a Cowboys fan. I'm just a fan of being right.
