Yes, it is true. Now who do we handcuff to the ever so fragile one (Fred Taylor)? The options:

Maurice Drew? Rookie drafted by J-ville has speed, but isn't big enough to carry a load.

LaBrandon Toefield? Veteran has the size and overall skills. But he's always impressed coaching staff in training camps and disappointed in regular season.

Alvin Pearman? Second year RB was on his way out the foor before this injury. Addition of Drew made Pearman (essentially a 3rd down back) expendable. Not likely to be considered for filling the role.

Derrick Wimbush? FB may get a chance to be short yardage or goal line guy, but not really a true backup for the feature job.

Gut instinct says first crack will go to Toefield. But whether that holds up thru the season is dicey.

Fragile Fred will always keep us guessing, but what are the impacts to the running game with Wimbush as the starting FB. Can a 2nd year undrafted player from Fort Valley State really open up holes for Freddy?

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
