*-If you would have guaranteed me that in some week of the 2009 season that Rams kicker Josh Brown would have more passing TD’s than Peyton Manning, Matt Schaub, Jay Cutler, David Garrard, and Kyle Orton all combined for that one week, I would have had your sanity checked and made a bet that I would be SERIOUSLY regretting right now. Glad no one’s crystal ball had that one!

*-Nice to see the Rams get a win, but let’s be realistic; if Calvin Johnson were healthy and had played the outcome would have been different. Nice to see Steven Jackson get into the end zone finally.

*-It was also nice to see Tennessee get a win, but even more surprising was the fact the Jags couldn’t throw on a Titans pass D that was the WORST in the league. What was up with that David Garrard?

*-Someone get some smelling salt for the Giants. I think they’re still asleep after getting run over by the Saints 3 weeks ago. They’ve gone from being in the driver’s seat in the NFC East to being in 3rd place.

*-Packers fans had every right to boo Brett Favre. Just like he had every right to go out and throw 4 TD passes and get the sweep over his former team.

*-Thru 7 games this season the Packers have allowed 13 passing touchdowns. 7 have come in two games though by Brett Favre.

*-Can it really be that Brett Ratliff is the BEST QB on the Browns? We’ve seen Brady Quinn and he was BAD. We’ve seen Derek Anderson and he was WORSE. Only one left is Ratliff. What does Mangini have to lose giving Ratliff a chance? If Ratliff fails miserably too, we can then assume it’s got to be the offensive system.

*-How ironic is it that in week 8 against Carolina Kurt Warner in Arizona throws 5 interceptions and loses a fumble when that was exactly what happened to Jake Delhomme last season in the playoffs against the Cardinals in Carolina?

*-Before everyone goes nuts about how LaDainian Tomlinson is back after scoring 2 TD’s against pitiful Oakland week 8, look at his 18 carries for 56 yards. That’s a 3.1 yards per carry average and pretty much LT has been doing this season.

*-Too bad about Owen Daniels being done for the year. He was having his best season ever.

*-Maybe Ted Ginn should be kept as a kickoff return specialist and 3rd or 4th WR. That seems to be a good role for him.

*-I fully expect Trent Edwards will return as the starter for Buffalo when they return from their bye. Fitzpatrick’s 2 wins were flukes where Buffalo won despite his poor performance. I also fully expect the Bills to tell us that Edwards was never in danger of not being the starter when he got healthy and that despite his being cleared to practice last week he was still having symptoms and wasn’t ready. You know you’ve been doing this a long time when you not only can recognize coach speak, but feel confident predicting it.

*-So Maurice Jones-Drew breaks off two TD runs of 79 and 80 yards and has 177 total rushing yards and yet he only gets 8 rushing attempts? I’m starting to wonder about Dirk Koetter’s play calling. Especially since the second TD run TIED THE GAME at 13-13.

*-Before everyone starts asking, don’t go running to your waiver wire to acquire Leonard Weaver. His one big run was basically a fluke and not likely repeated.

*-However you CAN run out and get Ryan Moats. Over the last few years Moats has gone from Brian Westbrook’s eventual replacement, to a guy who couldn’t understand the offense to being a waiver wire acquisition by the Texans and sometimes a sleeper but never getting too many opportunities to being arrested for running a stop sign this past off-season as he was trying to get his wife to the hospital to visit her dying mother; etc. Long story short, Moats is an unrealized talent who could finally be realizing it. At the very least he deserves a spot as either Steve Slaton’s handcuff or a bench RB with upside.

Russ,  Congtrats on the Rams victory.  It's thiese kind of seasons where you take one little thing at a time as a positive, otherwise the negatives pile up before you can take a breath.

i benched Stewart for Bell and he has his biggest game of the season, while Bell has one of his worst. what are the chances. that, not starting Ryan Fitzpatrick, is the single reason why i lost this week.
