Buffalo: Dick Jauron was fired this week. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell takes over as interim head coach. Trent Edwards has been benched. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start week 11. Fitzpatrick was awful in his starts a few weeks ago and this move sounds permanent. However, Fitzpatrick is not any better than Edwards. The Bills also signed Brian Brohm off the Packers practice squad to their active roster and released former 3rd QB Gibran Hamdan. While Brohm is unlikely to have any impact, it certainly speaks volumes about what they already think of Edwards and his future with the team.

Miami: Ronnie Brown was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury. Ricky Williams has taken over as the feature RB and looked great Thursday night. Lex Hilliard may have shown he deserves more carries with a couple of big runs. The wildcat may not be run as much, but it was interesting to see Ricky was running it occasionally. I expect we’ll see more of Pat White operating it in future games.

New England: RB Sammy Morris is Questionable and will be a game time decision. Even if active he’d likely be limited so Laurence Maroney gets a week to redeem himself after fumbling at the goal line last week. WR Julian Edelman is Questionable but expected to play. The broken arm didn’t stop him from playing last week and he should be fine this week. Edelman has reassumed the 3rd WR spot over Sam Aiken. Aiken was injured week 10 and it’s unknown if he’ll play this week. Brandon Tate was placed on IR with a knee injury prior to last week’s game and Isaiah Stanback was called to the active roster. Stanback will be the teams #4 WR.

New York Jets: Braylon Edwards continues to have a problem with securing the football. He dropped a 2 point conversion pass and fumbled another catch away. Jerricho Cotchery seems to have emerged as the top fantasy WR for the Jets despite Edwards having more natural playmaking ability. TE Dustin Keller has been getting more involved the last couple of games for the Jets and hopefully that continues going forward.

Baltimore: K Steven Hauschka was released and Billy Cundiff signed to replace him. TE Todd Heap has a rib injury and is Questionable for week 11. He will be a game time decision. Joe Flacco has really cooled off since coming off the bye. In his last 3 games, Flacco has thrown for less than 200 yards in each and has a total of only 1 touchdown. Willis McGahee finally got some touches week 10 after getting next to none the last 3 games. But this was a game that was well in hand and his playing time is likely to be determined on whether the team is blowing out an opponent or not.

Cincinnati: Cedric Benson is Doubtful and will not play week 11. While Larry Johnson was signed for depth at the position, if Benson doesn’t play, Bernard Scott would start with Brian Leonard being the top backup to him. Johnson is unlikely to make any fantasy impact barring another injury. Scott is a good play with a great matchup and Leonard may even be worth considering for the truly desperate as Oakland’s run defense is bad.

Cleveland: Despite another pitiful performance, Brady Quinn will start week 11. Not that there are any better options behind him. WR Josh Cribbs is Questionable with a neck injury but is expected to play. Jamal Lewis is Questionable with an ankle injury but is expected to start. Chris Jennings has apparently bypassed Jerome Harrison as the top backup to Jamal Lewis, but this situation could be one that changes week to week. TE Steve Heiden was placed on IR with an ankle injury.

Pittsburgh: After garnering a lot of fantasy attention in recent weeks, rookie 3rd WR Mike Wallace had 1 catch for 16 yards week 10. That’s the life of a rookie 3rd WR: some good games, many more mediocre ones. That’s why I don’t get too excited about guys like Wallace and usually leave them on the free agent wire and let others grab him.

Houston: Arian Foster was promoted from the practice squad this week. This makes the RB situation even more befuddling in the short term as it adds another body to the mix to go with Steve Slaton, Ryan Moats, and Chris Brown. I still expect Slaton to re-emerge as the primary RB in the coming weeks. Jacoby Jones has a calf injury and is Questionable to play Monday night. Rookie TE James Casey is finally expected to be able to play and you should keep an eye on him. He won’t start initially but he offers a lot more pass catching ability than current starter Joel Dreessen.

Indianapolis: Joseph Addai’s finger injury is minor and he isn’t on the injury report. Donald Brown made it thru week 10 and he isn’t listed either. Pierre Garcon is Questionable with an ankle injury but is expected to play. Anthony Gonzalez is rumored to be another week or two away from finally returning.

Jacksonville: WR Jarrett Dillard was placed on injured reserve with a broken ankle. Mike Thomas now has a firm grasp on the #3 WR spot while Tiquan Underwood will battle with Nate Hughes to be the #4. You might remember Hughes form earlier in the year as he was on fantasy radars until he dropped two TD passes against the Cardinals and was subsequently released by the team.

Tennessee: WR Justin Gage will miss Monday night’s game because of the back fractures he suffered back in week 9. Vince Young continues to impress and he looks a lot better than he’s ever looked in the past. He’s still not a good fantasy QB, but he’s proving to be worth keeping an eye on.

Denver: Kyle Orton is Questionable and while he is a game time decision, he didn’t practice at all this week and I’d be surprised if he were able to play. Expect Chris Simms to start for their AFC West division lead showdown against San Diego. Knowshon Moreno took advantage of Correll Buckhalter’s being benched for a 1st quarter fumble and has probably solidified himself as the primary over Buckhalter going forward. LaMont Jordan is OUT with a back injury.

Kansas City: Dwayne Bowe was suspended for the next 4 games by the league for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Chris Chambers becomes the top WR and Lance Long likely steps in as the other starter. Mark Bradley and Bobby Wade will vie for any scraps left over. Jamaal Charles appears to have beaten out Kolby Smith and Dantrell Savage for the primary RB job. Charles was impressive week 10 while Smith was sluggish and Savage fumbled a punt. Savage is Doubtful with an ankle injury for this week anyway.

Oakland: JaMarcus Russell has been benched for week 11. Bruce Gradkowski will start and depending on how well he does this could be just a one week move to motivate Russell or a permanent change. WR Chaz Schilens finally played week 10, but he, like all Raiders WR’s inspires little confidence going forward. Michael Bush’s big game has further muddled the RB situation. Bush is supposed to start week 11, but this situation will be unpredictable week to week as it appears whoever has the hot hand from the prior game will start the next. Which one (if any) of Bush, Darren McFadden, or Justin Fargas will have fantasy value is anyone’s best guess. Here’s a recipe for fantasy success: just avoid all Raiders if you can.

San Diego: LaDainian Tomlinson had his best game of the season week 10. He not only got 96 yards and 2 TD’s, but he also averaged 4 yards per carry doing it and looked a lot like the old LT. But I want to see it again before I feel good about starting him. On the reverse side the bad game by Vincent Jackson this past week was the anomaly for him this season and not the rule. I am still starting Jackson with confidence this week. Antonio Gates has a minor foot injury but is Probable on the injury report and will start week 11.

On any given Sunday any fantasy team can beat another, only to still lose Monday night.
