12 team league with starting positions: 3WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1W/R/T
10 yds/pt rush and receive, 25 yds/pt pass, 6 pts for all TDs and 1pt PPR
qb Romo, Hasselbeck
wr Roddy, Wayne, Jennings, Crabtree, Berrian, Heyward-Bey, Gaffney
rb A. Foster, Bradshaw, Caddy, F Jackson, Hightower
te Gates, ZMiller Oak
k Reed
d Chargers
I drafted 12 so I concentrated on WR.  This strategy worked great for me last year in a 10 team league allowing me to dominate.  I am afraid that 12 teams weakened the RB pool and left me too thin.  I'm trying to get the attention of the owner of Rice, Matthews and Best.

Yeah I would think 12 teams weakened the overall RB pool, but having to start 2 is not bad; Foster and Bradshaw fit that bill You have Roddy, Wayne and Jennings as the WRs.

Not sure I would even consider Best, sure he might get the starting job, but Detroit may end up being behind (again) in many games and need to throw. I woudl Rice might be an untouchable, which means Matthews could be the only viable option. Then again, not sure what WR that owner needs or IF Matthews is even on the table.

He drafted Harvin, Maclin, Meachem, Walter, and Avery as well as Slaton.  After showing up late to the draft he was un happy with the auto-draft taking the trio of RB's in the first three rounds.
Mathews and Best are definitely on the table.  While Mathews is probably the best target given his clear #1 role, I have a little hope that Best could have a bump in his value given the PPR. Even with that bump I am thinking that he will be somewhat comparable to what I have in Foster.  I guess I am not entirely sold on Mathews and the SD running game.

Okay, fair. I would figure Rice is off the table, he is a legit #1 and will have a big, big year in BAL. If he was on the table, I think you might have to give up too much in order to get him, wihich leaves you two options. Best of Matthews.

Look at both teams. San Diego is a perrenial playoff team, since LT they have had a dominate running game for at least the last 5 year, they have a solid offensive line and a QB in Rivers wil spreads the field and opens up the running game. Add to that the Bolts have a very easy schedule this year,

With Kevin Smith still in DE, then Best splits time. Even without Smith there, Detroit still needs to prove they can score and shut down the opposition or else they will be playing from behind and concentrating on the passing game, so the run goes out the door, as do the number of carries for Best. I am not sold on Stafford either, who needs Best in order to open up the passing game.

It all depends on the cost.  I'm guessing Mathews will cost a lot more than best.  I've seen him go 3+ rounds before Best.  If you can get a good deal on Mathews, he should definitely be the better play, but it may be pricey.  Tough part about both is, they are both unproven and could have their highest value of the season right now.

I think you will be servicable for now w/ Foster and Bradshaw, Foster being a clear cut #1 and Brashaw was just named the starter in NY.  Maybe wait a couple weeks and see how things shake out.
