Nice article James. I already had Pettigrew and Gronk in my draft plans, but I like the Jimmy Graham spotlight. I am weary of Watson being very effective thought. How would you rank the tight ends that you mentioned in your article?

James have you been reading my TE post from the other day?  hahaha, great minds think alike!  Nice breakdown on these guys.  Still not sure about Gronkowski though.  Its hard for me to trust guys in Belichick's system.  Atleast from a consistency stand point. One week they'll be great the next he focuses on someone else, particularly with Hernandez around. Maybe I just have a little too much Gator love for Hernandez.

Good reminder on Watson.  He definitely has potential to put up some good numbers,

Hi Gary,

It depends on your scoring system for me.

On TD heavy leagues I would pick up Gronkowski.

I really like Pettigrew,Daniels then Watson in PPR. But if anyone will breakout big I think it would be Pettigrew. I like the fact that both Lion QB's like to throw to him, so that gives him a slight edge if Stafford goes down to injury again. Pettigrew actually had three different QB's throwing to him last year.

Graham could be better than all of them. But you know how Brees is, likes to pepper the ball around to different guys. But I also think that Graham could score a lot of TD's. He is a low risk but very high return player this year.

Hi Nic,

Daniels is the highest risk player on that list due to his injury history.

Brady has confidence in Gronk.... He will keep going to him.

Good list James, I guess I am a like-minded individual as well. I agree with who you listed.

Update: 8/6/2011

TE Rob Gronkowski is lighting it up in training camp. In fact, no one seems to be able to cover him. With the addition of Ouchocinco to the receiving corps, this will leave Gronkowski with single coverage from linebackers mostly.

He now gets a bump up in TE ratings.

Yeah I read that, he could be a very nice option this year if you happen to miss out on the top 6-ish guys.

Update: 8/9/11

Kellen Winslow has looked very sharp and fast in traiing camp. This is the first time in awhile where he is not coming off of a knee surgery.

Will this be a bounce back year for him? Player to watch in pre-season.

What do you think about Jermain Gresham?  He had a decent rookie season(52/471/4), rookie QBs regularly fall back on TE, and they're likely going to be making a lot of short quick passes.  I like both him and Shipley for ppr this year.
