I received smart alerts on tuesday for tony romo being available in the monday night game. This doesnt really help being that it was the day after i should have recieved the alert. It needs to be more reliable.

IDan,

I talked to Russ last night about this. They are having trouble with the smart alert system and are working on it now.

However, if you have access to the computer like you say you do, it does not take much effort to zip over to Rotoworld.com and check the availability of an injured player.

That takes about three seconds to do it.

I've also noticed this the past couple of days. It must be a problem with the email system as a buddy has them sent to his phone and they showed up right away when they should have. When I went to my Smart Alerts section here thru the My Rosters tab they were there even though I hadn't gotten the email yet. I'm sure they'll get it worked out.

James, that is exactly what I did. I went to the computer. Its not the point. Everyone who pays for a membership expects that these things are done properly. I am not trying to put this site down, but you need to know these things if it is happening.

Idan,
I agree, the smart alerts are part of the package and should be on time.  According to James it is being looked into and hopefully will be resolved quickly.  When you come to depend on getting the alerts, it is too late when you find out after the fact that they did not arrive on time.

Idan.

Sometimes systems break down. Happens all of the time. I don't mind anyone complaining about an issue like the Smart Alerts. It's a valid complaint.

But when you editorialize and say " It needs to be more reliable" Frankly, I think the people trying to fix those problems already know that and don't need to lectured about it by you, me, or anyone else on the boards.

That was my only point.

I don't think you can rely soley on the Smart Alerts. Every coach should be checking out Rotoworld.com just before kickoff when information is instantly updated on injuries until the Smart Alert problem is fixed.

i know how you feel. just last week i went to the train station to perform my small yet integral part in a flash mob. well, to make a long story short, the clock hits the designated time and i throw off my non-descript coat and begin my dance routine. to my horror, i was the only one! just as everyone was staring at me like i was a nutcase, i received a text letting me know that the flash mob was moved to 12:30.

i know that story doesn't retroactively put romo on your active roster, but hopefully you can take solice in knowing that it happens to the best of us.

that sounds like the TV commercial..lol.

James - It was my mistake to write it out in those words. However, how can I know that they are working on fixing the problem if I dont even know that you are aware of the problem in th efirst place. Maybe when something like this happens, it is a good idea to post something to say you are working on it. I dont rely only on FFS (even though as a paying customer, I should expect to). I also run my own business and understand that probelms happen.  If my customer has a complaint, I dont tell them what they should have done. I explain how the probelm will be fixed and apologize for not making it aware prior to them noticing.

IDan,
I too was at Santisi's last night and spoke to Russ about Smart Alerts...
First off you are correct it's important that if something isn't working that the folks at FFS know about so thanks for the heads up.

While it ceratinly is good advice and it sounds like you do check other sources, you should also expect that the services you pay for are deleivered to you in a timley fashion.

What's important to know is they are aware of it and are working on it.  I would also like to suggest that if you have a smartphone that you set the alerts to go to that as well.  The reason while they are having Smart Alert e-maill issues it works immediate on the cell phone so whaterver is the issue is, it's internet related not MMS related.
