I really need a fillin RB this week now that it looks like Tolbert is not going to play. Waiver Wire still has Helu an Battle. Who do you guys think would be the best for a one week replacement? Thanks

Conventional wisdom is Battle and he is the safer pickup for this week.  Long term, I'm betting on Helu since he has more talent than Torain and Torain is injury prone in Washington.  Helu may be the starter in Washington soon, maybe even this week.  Battle is not involved in the passing game and his upside depends on him getting into the endzone.  If you need a sure 6-12 points pick up Battle.  If you need more to win this week, Helu may be worth the gamble, recognizing that you may get 3-4 points on the downside.

I wouldn't drop Jacobs, would consider Tolbert first since he is dinged and now the #2 behind Mathews in SD.

Helu, Torain? Not sure which way this will go, this week  Battle in my opinion is in a better situation to produce, S.D is hurting.

You need to trade Gates for a stronger RB2.  No reason to have points on your bench.

With the uncertainty of Torain, Helu, and Shanahan's RB use a fp mess, safest is to go with Battle. With missing another practice and Monday night game, I'm leaving Tolbert on the bench.

The one upside I see for Helu is longer term - if/when Torain is injured, Helu's value increases (at least on a normal team not coached by Shanahan!).

Good luck!

And agree that trade would be ideal right now w/Gates.  Know leagues I've been in folks aren't big traders, but...  Tolbert is banged up but I couldn't bring myself to drop him. Not sure what others think, but possibly DHB?

Mostly thinking w/Palmer just getting in there he might be available to be picked back up easier than Tolbert (if you decided to pick him back up). Personally find slim pickings on waivers for RB's vs some semi-viable choices at WR.

Also just noticed J. Stewart on the wire. Would he be better than Battle?
