Look at this Michael. My "Dexter" team went into the week # 14 playoff week as the 4th seed. Look at the victory points column and you will see the rating

Ran it by my league and everyone loved it, but we use Yahoo now and it is free.  The other owners don't want to drop the payout to pay for hosting, so I guess we will use Yahoo again next year.

There are hundreds of public leagues on the site. If you don't tell them you are returning by August if you played the previous year, the leagues open up to new members.
I don't pay anything for hosting . You can fit 10 to 12 players on an open existing league and pay no hosting costs.

James,
If you bring in your own league is there a charge.  I looked and it appeared to be a hosting fee.  Did I look at it incorrectly?

That is if you start a league with your own rules. If you all join a public Antsports league together that is already established, you would fall under their scoring and rule structure and it costs you nothing for hosting.

In July they will offer hundreds of leagues already set up from the $50 to $1000 dollar buy in range. Each league has to play by their scoring rules, but each might be just a little different. One league might let you flex and extra WR or TE. They give you a wide range of different league styles. Some are no trade leagues.

You might want to try a $50 league at first to see if you like their system. I like it because it rewards performance rather than luck.

I have been playing there for years and you never know who you are up against. But when you start playing in the  $250 up to $1000 dollar leagues, it's serious business and very competitive.

The draft is a slow 16 round computer draft that takes about 2 weeks to complete. They give you up to 12 hours a pick if you need that long.

You're not paying for hosting but they take a percentage of the winnings.  Basically what I am getting at is, you can't take your free yahoo league (money is done on the side) and transfer it over to Antsports without either paying 8.95/person for the "trophy league" or a 20-30% fee out of the winnings for the money leagues, right?

I mean it would defeat the purpose for them to offer a free league where people could do their money exchange on the side.  Is there something I am missing James?  I am not sure I understood what you meant.    thanks

Of course they take a percentage. That is how they make money to produce the site and make a profit. As long as your winning, it should not make a difference.

I have won a lot of money off of that site the last few years. I just gave them $ 500.00 bucks and they gave me $2,670 dollars in return.

For me the difference is the scoring system that they use. I would much rather play in a PPR system than the standard one that Yahoo uses. Why? Because you have a better chance coming from behind when you add the PPR angle than you do with a standard scoring system.

Last week I was down by 44 points going into Monday night's game. I had Brees and Colston as my last two players. I edged him by 6 points. In a standard league, I would have had very little chance to do that.

So, I have no problem with them making a little money. This league gives you the best chance to win if your an experienced player and I have played in a lot of different leagues over the years.

To each his own I guess. You might want to play in a public Antsports league next year just to see if you like it or not.
