I have him in 1st rnd of my Dynasty league....would you keep him??

For 2 yrs now he has fallen to injury and again the mags promise that he'll be a top 5 wr.

He is 31 yrs old.

I wanna believe...that's why I picked him in rnd 1.

I could take Victor Cruz, Demarco Murray, Jordy Nelson, Jimmy graham, Sproles, R moss, Hernandez or any rookie??

MY Big Dilemna this year

thanks

I keep Johnson myself, he is head and shoulders the best player out of the group you mentioned. WRs unlike RBs can play well after 30, unlike RBs. I see him as the #2 WR out there behind Charles Johnson.

Throwball, who the heck is Charles Johnson? ( Send me some of whatever your having! LOL!)

Montana, it all depends on which draft slot you are in during the first round.

Andre is usually going late first to early second in PPR drafts.

Don't follow the advice of football magazines blindly or even the advice you get here if your gut instinct tells you otherwise.

No one that predicts star players in fantasy football are right most of the time. Preparation goes only so far and luck is a major component on winning as well.

And no one, and I mean no one can predict a player injury or if a player will stay healthy in any given fantasy year.

Even though I like A Johnson, I would rather have Jimmy Graham then AJ, he will likely out-produce AJ in yards and TD's this year.

I never tell anyone to draft a TE in the first round but I would much rather have Graham than Gronkowski or AJ if you decide to go that route.

What i see is AJ has been hurt 3 of the last 5 years and has never totalled more than 9 tds in a year.

But i hate to give up a stud keeper.

I just think his stud status may be over.

Even Schaub can't stay healthy. :)

I may get him back in 2nd rnd anyways, if i give him up.

ty guys

That is a great point about Schaub and AJ's health Montana.

Here is another point. AJ never scores a lot of TD's for a WR # 1.

We now know what Graham can do.

Charles...Calvin, I knew I should have just said Megatron. LOL. You guys are spot on about him being injury prone the past few seasons and we can't predict what happens, once give our opinions and cite past fact. Regardless of what sort of season Graham had last year, I personally find it difficult to rank a TE ahead of a WR the caliber of Andre Johnson.

Maybe the question we should be asking is will Brees with new contract, coming off his best statistical year be able to duplicate his efforts from last year?

I think I'd give AJ the benfit of the doubt for one more season. Before his injury last year in week 4 he was averaging over 13 fantasy points per game, and the injury slowed him considerable for the rest of the season as he rushed to come back and kept aggravating it.

In 2010 he did miss 3 games, but still finished 9th in total WR scoring in regular scoring systems and tied for second at the position in fantasy points scored per game.

In 2009, he was the #1 WR in both categories and stayed healthy all 16 games.

In 2008 he was 2nd overall in WR scoring and tied for 4th in points scored per game while staying healthy for a full 16.

Time is going to catch up to him sooner or later, and that injury last year provides a concern, but 31 isn't too old for a WR to remain in the stud category.

My opinion is that he may not be available in the second round, but who knows.

You know what, I've been burned by Johnson and his injuries to many years now, and even though I have Johnson rated slightly higher, the upside on Victor Cruz is much higher.

So my personal thought would be to dump Johnson for Cruz. Cruz may also benefit if Nicks is slow to recover at the start of the season.
