10 team, PPR keeper league that is QB heavier scoring. 6 points for all TDs, 1 point 25 pass yds/10 rush/rec yds. 1 point for every 5 completions, extra points for long TDs and 100/200 yd rush/rec games and 300/400 yd passing games.

So you a better idea on scoring here are last years point totals for top players: Brees 616, Rodgers 590, Brady 545, Rice 366, McCoy 330, Foster 315, Calvin 324, Welker 296.

I have the first over all pick and I am keeping Jamaal Charles and Julio Jones. I have been planning to take Ray Rice with the first pick this whole time but the more I look at it the more it seems to make sense going QB first overall and dealing with mediocre RBs. I have run through it if I take Rodgers I am expecting options on the next picks to be AP, Matthews, Richardson, Martin, Fred Jackson at RB and the Bowe, Colston, Nicks, Steve Smith area on RBs.

If I don't take a QB #1, I will likely be dealing Vick - Rivers for the season. I have never drafted a QB in the first round but in this case it just seems to be giving away too many points not going that route.

Any and all thoughts and criticism welcomed!

So many typos there, Bowe - Smith for WR end of round 2/start of round 3

I would go top QB. The point separation between the top QB's and the top RB's is crazy. Julio is going to be good. Charles scares me a bit but looks you'll have a shot at some good guys after that. AP/Charles could be amazing or it could bust since they are both coming off injury. But you win championships by taking risks. Lot of guys coming off injury in the next tier of RB's another possibility could be Doug Martin who I think could be special.

Being stuck with Vick or Rivers aren't bad options at all. But you said it yourself it's a QB dominated league I think you where the points are and get the best available at that position. Taking Rice could results in only half as many points as say Brees or Rodgers.

So I have decided QB it will be at #1. I have been thinking Rodgers since making that decision, but looking at several playoff strength of schedule rankings Brees and the Saints may be the better play. Weeks 14-17, Rodgers: Det, Chi, Ten, Min. Brees: NYG, TB, Dal, Car.

The mess in NOLA worries me a bit. Thoughts on A Rod or Brees as the #1 QB this year?

I prefer Rodgers to Brees by just a little bit. I'm not worried about the mess in NOLA as last year when Payton was out for several games Brees actualy averaged better numbers than when Payton was on the sideline. I just think Rodgers is a notch above Brees for overall consistency. Rodgers had just one strat with fewer than 2 TD passes; Brees had 3. It's not much to go on, but I sliughtly prefer Rodgers. Rushing yards and TD's Rodgers adds (Brees almost never does) are a plus for him.
