I draft #9 in a 10 team PPR league. I'm thinking its highly possible that MJD is available still at #9. Premium qb's are a premium in this league and I feel like Stafford, Brees or Brady could also be available at #9 - at least 1 of the 3. Should I take MJD and take my chances for the qb at #12 pick overall?? Is MJD too much of a risk this season?? Any thoughts please....

According to who you listen to, more likely MJD could be available at 12 overall than one of the top 4-6 QB's. You have the top 3 RB's + Megatron + CJ2K + Rodgers and Brees and Brady, in that order in my league. That leaves Mac and MJD + Stafford and then Newton. I would probably take one of the following at 9, CJ2K or McFadden if one of them falls to 9. If not, then the highest rated QB at 9 and hope to get MJD at 12. Most likely the 10th guy will take either one of the QB's or the other top 6 RB. If you take a RB at 9, then I follow with Stafford or Newton (whoever you rated higher) at 12, provided that this is a 6 pt TD league. If not, I might take a top 6 RB if available at 12 to match with my top 6 RB from 9, or a top 6 RB or a top 1-2 TE (Graham or Gronk). Lots of good options for a 9 and then 12 draft position.

The last sentence should say "or a top 6 WR or a top 1-2 TE"

Jim, I still find a "risk" tag attached to MJD. He should be there at 9 and possible later as O1P eluded to. I would not expect one of the top 3 (Rodgers, Brees or Brady) to be there. Stafford is an outside possibility, but from what I have seen and experienced now in 3 drafts, he never made it as far as #9. I would not feel comfortable draftin MJD in the 9 spot. I would much rather get a RB, who might be tiered lower but who has been in camp the entire preseason.

Names like Forte, Murray and maybe CJ2K are quite possible at #9. Yet if one of those 4 QBs fell, I would rather draft and build my team around them. Coming back in round 2, you could then pick up your RB.

My last draft (league is somewhat QB heavy with 0.25 pts / completion and 4 pts / passing TD), 12 team league.

Foster, Rodgers, Rice, McCoy, Calvin, Brees, DMac, Brady, CJ2K, Stafford, Newton were the 1st 10 taken, in that order.

Both the drafts I've done had Rodgers, Brees, Brady gone by pick 7. MJD went 9th and 11th. Foster, Rice & McCoy went 1,2,3 in both and Megatron was also gone by 7 in both leagues. If you want a QB with pick 9 you'll be choosing Stafford
