Week 2 wasn't as kind as week 1. Going 9-7 leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and I vow to do better. I now stand at a disappointing 19-13 for thru two weeks and need to have some outstanding weeks going forward to make up for stumbling out of the blocks. I knew taking 7 road teams last week was a bad idea as home teams went 14-2. Who would have guessed one of the two home teams to lose would be the Patriots to Arizona?!

That said, you'd think I'd learn my lesson, but I find myself taking seven road teams again in week 3. This will either be genius, or a case of Scotty's famous line from Star Trek: "Fool me once? Shame on you. Fool me twice? Shame on me!".

Here are my very suspect week 3 NFL game predictions:

NY Giants 34, Carolina 27
Cleveland 24, Buffalo 20
Washington 31, Cincinnati 24
Detroit 37, Tennessee 24
Indianapolis 24, Jacksonville 21
New Orleans 38, Kansas City 20
Miami 19, NY Jets 16
San Francisco 30, Minnesota 20
Chicago 24, St. Louis 20
Dallas 28, Tampa Bay 24
Atlanta 30, San Diego 23
Arizona 24, Philadelphia 23
Houston 27, Denver 22
Pittsburgh 24, Oakland 13
Baltimore 27, New England 24
Green Bay 26, Seattle 17

There you have it; my week 3 NFL Game Predictions.

Well the Survivor Pool win streak didn't last long. From what I gathered from a report out of Las Vegas, I, along with 50% of all people playing in Survivor pools got bounced week 2 when the Arizona Cardinals upset the New England Patriots. First time the Patriots have lost their home opener in Gillette Stadium. Only 1 of 2 home teams to lose in week 2. I still can't believe it. My Arizona Cardinals background rejoiced in their victory, but my NFL Survivor Pools all got punked. That's why the NFL is such a great game: on any given Sunday…

I stand 1-1 in my locks after 2 weeks:

Week 1 (W; 27-23) Detroit over St. Louis
Week 2 (L; 18-20) New England over Arizona

Well, even though I've been eliminated from official survivor pools, I will still each week give out my Lock for the week. And keeping in Survivor Pool tradition, I will not pick a team I have already chosen in a prior week.

For this week there are a couple of games that stand out to me. But there is one home team that truly stands out. This could have been a trap game for my pick if they had won their first two games, but instead, the Saints have lost both of their first two games and are desperate for a win. Enter another team that is 0-2, the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are tied for last in the NFL with 75 points allowed thru 2 games. The Chiefs being 0-2 was kind of expected; the Saints being 0-2 wasn't. New Orleans needs this game and I fully expect them to come out and bury KC early. The Chiefs may be able to trade scores for a while, but Matt Cassel's limitations usually come out in the end.

My Survivor Pool Lock for week 3 is: New Orleans over Kansas City

Fogot to pick my lock this week. So out of the two remaining games that haven't started yet, I will take GB over Seattle. 2-0 so far.

Well it wouldn't have been who I would normally have picked, But it was between them and Balt/NE since I forgot. Normally I would have taken Chicago.

Sometimes it might not be until Thursdays when I get them posted. This week will be up in a few moments.

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
