Two weeks ago in the fantasy football podcast Jeff and I do (and you can access it on the "Listen Up!" page) I gave you Tony Romo as a super sleeper to go stash at that time on your fantasy rosters. I'm not going to speculate on whether Romo is the starter the rest of the year as only his performances on the field will dictate that. Time will tell if he holds onto the job for more than a week, but whether you agree with the decision to bench Drew Bledsoe and start Tony Romo is immaterial (for good read on this I invite you to check out Phil Simms article on NFL.com). Fantasy players want to know how this impacts the fantasy football projections for their other Cowboys.

In looking at the Monday night game after Romo came in, of his 25 pass attempts, 4 went to Terry Glenn, 8 went to TO, and the other 13 were split up between TE's, RB's, and other WR's. In the first half, under Beldsoe, 5 went to Glenn, 4 to TO, and 3 to everyone else.

What does this mean? It means that while Bledsoe tried hard to spread it around but make Glenn his primary target (like the ill-fated interception he threw towards the end of the first half), Romo looked a lot more often for TO. Twice as often. This should make TO happy, and owners of TO very happy.

TO had been getting about an equal amount of looks as Glenn under Bledsoe, but it was clear that Bledsoe preferred Glenn. Now it's only been one game but Romo seemed to clearly be trying to get the ball to TO more often. He also showed that he will throw more often to his TE's and RB's.

Glenn has been a solid fantasy football starter at WR more weeks than not, but if the second half on Monday night's game is an indication, it will be Glenn who suffers most from Romo being the QB. And don't think that Jerry Jones is minding that at all as TO is his guy.

On any given Sunday any fantasy team can beat another, only to still lose Monday night.

Go Romo - Even though I need To to get the catches, yards and touchdowns, it gives me a great feeling to see Dallas, Parcells and J. Jones - flopping like a fish out of water.

The Fantasy Football Advice - is great, but I really like seeing the Cowboys as just an average team. What goes around comes around and TO is going to haunt them, for years to come. I hope. P.S. - My wife is a Cowboy fan, so if she see's this post- I am toast!

I heard an interview with Michael Irvin about two weeks ago talking about how Romo has already approached TO and told him, "If I ever get in, you're my guy." They talked about how TO made Garcia a pro bowl QB, and Romo knows this. All good news for TO fans indeed.

His next book should be "Little T Learns to Keep His Mouth Shut".

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
