I know you are following your "terrible" Cardinals closely, but just wanted to put in an early update regarding our friendly Fitz wager! :)

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald earned NFC offensive player of the week for Week Three of the NFL regular season in a big play-filled and individually historic performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Game 1 4-rec, 63-yards, no-TD's

Game 2 1-rec, 4-yards, no-TD's

Game 3 9-rec, 114-yards, 1-TD

Ranked 36th in my league...not exactly #1 WR numbers but regardless please keep my statements in perspective.

I have been speaking from a fantasy PERSPECTIVE not from an NFL persective. What I wrote was Fitz will not be worth the 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks that most fantasy owners will have to give for him to get him because of the QB situtation in AZ. I stand by that and through 3-games I'm right...it's a long season.

THIS IS NO WAY MEANS I THINK FITZ STINKS NOR DO I WISH BAD UPON HIM. I was simply offering an opinion of Fitz as a #1 Fantasy rec and what most people would have to take him at in the first three rounds to get him.

I took Megatron ahead of him (ranked #2 in my league) I drafted Victor Cruz after Fitz was drafted (ranked # 14 in my league) I took V-jax after him (ranked 29th in my league) not saying that's how they'll finish but through three weeks I'm the man.

PLUS the guy that took him in round #2 has three other receivers he took after him...ahead of him pointwise...and has problems at QB and RB because of selecting Fitz in round 2.

You have to think outside the box to win at fanatsy football...BUT there's allot of games left and things can certainly change.

Yes, Fitz is on track for 4 to 5 td's this year. I want more than that from my WR # 1

I agree with Michael. For my leagues, Fitzgerald was drafted 11th in one league and 15th in another. I could not understand why anyone would want to take him there because of the QB situation. I believe Fitzgerald is an elite WR in the NFL, top 3. However in fantasy he's just not worth such an early pick. Hey this can all change and Fitz could have a great year. The other thing is if your gonna point out the good weeks then you have to point out a bad week when he had 1 catch for 4 yards.

Wow long winded response to a simple ribbing Michael. My post was simply a friendly gesture to remind you that I haven't forgotten about our bet....IE I think Fitz will finish as a top 12 WR using a Standard Scoring system IE 1pt for 10yds and 6pts for TDs. You must have me confused with someone else who efuses too much emotion about NFL players. I try to apply analytical reasoning to this wonderful game of FF without the highs and lows of an emotional roller coaster. Good luck to you this year!

Hugs,

Steve

Should've taken T. Smith in a trade for Ftiz.

I took him 3rd round because he was the best available player and I was in the market for a WR. I know there are issues in the desert with the QB and offensive line, problems might even run deeper than that. I knew that and I accepted it, but no way could I pass Fitzgerald up for a lower tiered WR. That does not make good fantasy sense. Now it could be that Fitzgerald underperforms this year, while lower tiered WR overperforms. Still can't escape the track record Fitzgerald has had while a Cardinals player, 6 time 1000 yard WR, 4 years 10 or more TDs and a 6 time pro bowl player. Hard to ignore all these, but many did because of the Skelton/Kolb issues at QB. It's a risky move, but I gambled and hopefully in the end it will work out.

As a sidenote, the following round, I followed up with Andre Johnson in HOU. Many didn't draft him because of his injury record recently.

Steve, I was just bustin on ya...it's all good...haven't forgotten the bet. But I did notice you waited until his good week to post on him...things that make you go hmmmmmmm

I take heat (not from you) on some of my rants being out of context, I just wanted t be sure that no one think I think Fitz sucks...he's a hall of fammer in allot of aspects...

We'll see how she goes the rest of the year...but there's no question that the Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl...I've said it all along!!!!
