Week 4 was looking real good until the night games Sunday and Monday. I was 11-2 going into those games, but I came out on losing end on both and dropped to 11-4 for the week. That puts me at a still disappointing 37-26 for the season and I need some outstanding weeks to catch up to where I normally like to be heading into the second quarter of the season.

So here's crossing my fingers I can hit 12+ in only 14 games this week. Here are my official NFL Game Predictions for week 5:

Arizona 23, St. Louis 19
Atlanta 29, Washington 24
Baltimore 31, Kansas City 10
NY Giants 27, Cleveland 17
Green Bay 26, Indianapolis 21
Cincinnati 27, Miami 10
Pittsburgh 23, Philadelphia 20
Chicago 27, Jacksonville 21
Carolina 21, Seattle 16
San Francisco 37, Buffalo 17
New England 31, Denver 27
Minnesota 23, Tennessee 17
New Orleans 34, San Diego 27
Houston 34, NY Jets 6

There you have it, my week 5 NFL game predictions.

My Survivor Pool Lock for week 4 came thru as Houston demolished Tennessee. Glad to know my "locks" are not the death knell for teams. I was beginning to wonder after blowing my locks in both weeks 2 and 3. I now sit at a woeful 2-2 in the locks. Here are the results so far thru 4 weeks:

Week 1 (W; 27-23) Detroit over St. Louis
Week 2 (L; 18-20) New England over Arizona
Week 3 (L; 24-27) New Orleans over Kansas City
Week 4 (W; 38-14) Houston over Tennessee

As always, keeping in the spirit of a Survivor Pool, I will not take any team I have used in a prior week. As much as I'd like to continue riding the Texans bandwagon, they are off the board for me. No matter as there are a couple of other great choices to be had this week. Even though it bit me in week 2, I am sticking to my belief that road teams travelling from one coast to the other usually make good picks to bet against, especially when they are facing a superior team. There is one game that features that in particular that stands out to me. After suffering a brutal letdown in the second half to New England last week, the Bills could turn into a team demoralized.

My Survivor Pool Lock for Week 5 is: the San Francisco 49ers over the Buffalo Bills

Off to a good start..... you should have picked with your heart and gone with the Rams. Marshall faulk on the pregame was the only one to pick the Rams...

Its rare that I say it, but thank you Rams...

Go Niners!

I should have known. I've been telling everyone that the Rams game was the Cards trap game, but I thought after having to come from behind like they did against Miami last week the Cards wouldn't be caught flat footed. I was wrong.

The Rams fan in me is happy with the result and the fact our defense looks very good. The Cardinals fan in me is disappointed as 5-0 would have made making the playoffs easier.

I took the Rams this week, which is great. The only problem I see is that it is the only game where I picked the dog. I hate picking all so many favored teams!

I knew I should've picked the Rams. Fisher was fired up.

Fisher did not get enough credit at TN. Look at the personnel, it is the same and the TN team under Fisher was competitive. Not so much now!

Fisher never got enough credit at TN. And they kept trading away his D.

The Titans really lost their steam when he left.

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
