As Russ Bliss talks about all the time, luck plays a role in fantasy football. Sometimes, you are on the receiving end, which could enable you to a championship. Other times you can't seem to buy a break and everything is going wrong. In fact I have one of those teams, now 0-5 and before the season began it looked like a competitive team, well rounded considering it was a 14 team league.

Conversely I have a 4-1 (12-team) and a 3-2 (10-team) team that are playing better than the 0-5 but I have been lucky to pick up a few players along the way that have helped. Not as much as some of the drafted players, obviously but guys like Pitta, Bennett, Zuerlein and Andrew Brown come to mind.

While this list has players at all positions, the availability of them out be hit and miss. For example 2 of the leagues I play in Ponder is still available. Other leagues are limited in how many players at each position, so you could see better talent on the wire than some of the names I provide.

As the season rolls on, the need for the wire might diminish some. Right now, I am not to thrilled with the names (some repeats) on the list for week 6. With the BYE weeks starting you might have to take a flier on a wire pick up to help fill out your starting roster or worse, take a zero if you don't have the flexibility on your bench. That is a chance you take.

Good luck and feel free to add names or submit your questions. You can read Watch List #6 here.

“I am advancing to the championship game in both of my leagues and I believe a lot of the credit goes to those of you in this forum and the many tools that we have access to”. (Ron 3 year member)

“This site greatly helped me make it through this year in both my leagues and all the great help from other members thanks very much fellas!” (Courtney first year member)

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
