Now week 7 was more like it. 11-2 definitely helps get me back closer to respectability. And I feel another good week coming on week 8. My overall season record now stands at 65-39, and while this is still a bit disappointing, if I can continue to have solid weeks going forward, I can get closer to my goal of 180 right for the year. But that's going to be tough. But here goes.

My week 8 NFL game predictions:

Minnesota 24, Tampa Bay 17
Philadelphia 28, Atlanta 24
Chicago 31, Carolina 14
Tennessee 23, Indianapolis 17
Green Bay 35, Jacksonville 6
NY Jets 24, Miami 21
New England 27, St. Louis 13
San Diego 20, Cleveland 13
Detroit 23, Seattle 19
Pittsburgh 24, Washington 21
Kansas City 16, Oakland 13
NY Giants 27, Dallas 24
Denver 38, New Orleans 28
San Francisco 17, Arizona 13

There you have it; my week 8 NFL game predictions.

My Survivor Pool Lock for week 7 was another hit. Minnesota took care of business in their own house over the Cardinals, and that now makes me 5-2 in the locks for 2012. Here are the weekly results to date:

Week 1 (W; 27-23) Detroit over St. Louis
Week 2 (L; 18-20) New England over Arizona
Week 3 (L; 24-27) New Orleans over Kansas City
Week 4 (W; 38-14) Houston over Tennessee
Week 5 (W; 45-3) San Francisco over Buffalo
Week 6 (W; 23-20) Atlanta over Oakland
Week 7 (W; 21-14) Minnesota over Arizona

Keeping in tradition of not being able to select a team more than once in a season, I won't take any team I've chosen in a prior week. That still leaves me plenty for this week though as there are some easy games to call. I'm really tempted to go with Chicago over Carolina, but that also could be one of those weird games where Jay Cutler flops. But there is one game that pretty much you could stop just short of betting the mortgage on this week. While there's no such thing as a sure bet, this game is as close as it gets. It's the easiest call to make of the season and itís only pity on their part that I don't have this team winning the game by more than 29 points.

My Survivor Pool Lock for Week 8 is: the Green Bay Packers over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Russ, have you ever consolidated the Analyzer's projected TD, FG, XP, and Safety projections for each team and seen how those projections look next to your own? I would be curious to see those predictions and results.

Marcus, it's easy enough to do. Championship Package members have access to the weekly Lineup Anlyzer game predictions thru the tools tab.

100% Bonified and Guaranteed Lock of the Year!

Bet the farm and the condo in Maui on the Patriots.

The Rams don't have the LB's to cover NE's tight end tandem. While Finnegan might hold Welker in check, Ryan Tannehill and Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of the 20 passes they threw at Janoris Jenkins the past two games. In what I suspect will be a Jenkins-Lloyd matchup most of the day, Brady will likely abuse the rookie for 2-3 touchdowns to Lloyd. This one will be over by halftime, I'm afraid. Patriots 52, My Rams 14.

Thanks, Thomas. I've been a Championship Package member for several years now I never noticed that link. I feel pretty stupid now, but I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
