Despite second most points, I sit at 3-5...though with 2 6-2's and 4 4-4's i'm still right there. Top 6 of 10 make playoffs. I think my team is pretty solid, and this might seal my remaining hole. It also will weaken my depth. Standard yahoo scoring with 1/2 ppr. Here's my team:

QB - Ryan, RGIII
WR - AJ Green, Julio Jones, Titus Young, Henderson
RB - Forte, McFadden, Martin, Morris
TE - Gates
K/D - matchup dependent

We start QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, RB/WR flex, TE, K, D.

Gates is killing me. And aside from random 2 TD performances, I don't see him turning it around anytime soon...San Diego just looks horrible on offense.

I've been counteroffered RG3, Martin and Gates for Vick, Felix Jones and Jimmy Graham. I want to switch Martin for Morris or have him switch Jones for CJ Spiller. Trade analyzer says no...but realistically, I think RG3 is a good sell high player right now and I can't afford to sit Ryan when he's consistently giving me 20+ points. Don't care much for Vick or Jones (or Spiller) but I also don't need either for my starting lineup. With a Ryan/Jones/Green/McFadden/Forte/Martin/Graham rotation, I think i'm looking rock solid.

Thoughts?

I would offer him Gates and RG3 For Graham and Vick. However, Vick might lose his starting job soon. But you won't need him unless Ryan gets injured.

Can't recommend including Vick in any trade, if he loses his starting job, then the trade is RGIII, Gates, and Martin for Felix Jones and Graham. You can get more than that for RGIII alone.

I kinda disagree though...there aren't many teams that will part with more for RGIII considering how many good QBs there are in a 10 team league. I just don't see anyone else offering anything substantial. Plus, I think my main weakness is at tight end. Lastly, the team i'd be giving him to is stuck in last place and I don't have to play him again, so if I make his team stronger and he's able to knock off some of those i'm chasing, I think that's to my advantage too. With that information, would you feel differently? Remember, I have Matt Ryan...so yes, i know i'm giving him more in this trade, but I think my starting line up is better off for it.

I appreciate your thoughts/opinions!

I would shop RGIII to every team in the league and take the best offer. If you get a top RB, then trade a rb for a te. I understand that Gates has been underperforming and he may continue, but the law of averages says that he will have some good games. You do need to trade either RGII or Ryan to help your team, the points on your bench do not help your starting lineup.

You could use a wr to add some depth there in case of injury in addition to your desire to upgrade at TE. Does the Gronk owner need an upgrade at QB?

If you make the trade and drastically improve your oponent without getting equal value in return, who wins when you play for the championship? I am a believer that you have to give value to get value and even in slightly overpaying with non-starters if that gets me what I need in return. So the discussion is how much are you willing to overpay. Only you can make that decision. Just keep in mind that not all players have good match ups every week and not all players will remain healthy.

The delta between RGII's avg points per game and the 10th place QB in my league (who is Vick) is 6 points per game and I'm guessing that some teams have multiple top 10 qb's since Peyton, RGIII, and Big Ben were most likely drafted as back ups. That means that someone in your league is starting a 12-15 ranked qb.

The delta between Gates and Graham is 4.5 points avg per game. If you use current averages, improving your starting lineup by 4.5 points per week. Not sure what any of this means, just the way I look at trades. Are you willing to give up those players to improve your lineup by 4.5 points per week? You don't want to know what the delta is between Martin and Jones, and that will get wider if and when Murray returns. I would take my chances with Gates before giving up Martin. I like James trade better with RGII and Gates for Graham and Vick. That is a fairer trade and to get Graham I could support that, but only after I had shopped RGIII to all the other teams to see if anyone will overpay to get him.
