This was just an odd year in general. Top picks like Megatron and Brady (until this week) not living up to potential. Falcons are undefeated?!It is like NFL bizarro world!

After yet another loss, I have no shot of even the playoffs. This week I had my highest scoring week of the year, and still lost. I have come to terms this just isn't my year, but I also refuse to quit and not set line ups.

Anyone else want to join me in my pity party?

I have two teams in first, two in second, one fighting for a spot and one team that has to win every game to have a chance.

So, I have one team that is virtually out of contention.

While I will continue to play out the season and tend to my commish duties, I have written off all three of my teams. I feel good about the 5-3 team I have but lack of two quality RBs is killing me. No one wants Brees, who I have had on the trade block since week 1. Just another year of bad luck. There is always helping others win their championship on the forums.

Chris, I like the last line of you post and I think that is the MOST important aspect is refusing to quit. I have seen many owners do stupid things when they are out of it. Good to hear you will ride it out, even if a championship isn't in your future this year.

In my main league I am sitting at 3-5 but only one game out of first, real weak division. I just traded Rivers, Mendy and Dwyer for Peyton today. That should help but one never knows. As far as giving up, that will never happen to me as well. Last year I was 0-6 but kept trying to build my team until the end. I got several emails and that aboys at this years draft for not giving up and still putting up a fight all the way to the end. If I can't win it all at least I can be the spoiler.

Throwball, Throwball, Throwball, it is all about drafting. Do you remember our little discussion about using tiers to take the best players available and not wasting a pick on a QB so early. I don't wanna be the guy who told you so but it appears your drafting strategy might've been a little flawed...

Robert, yes I do recall that thread clearly. I agree it is all about the draft and I have drafting using tiering for many years. Yet if my strategy were "proven" and not flawed, then it would stand to reason I would be talking about the number of championships I have racked up over the years.

Unfortunately that is not the case. I have 2 championship since 2006 and prior to that the record is even worse! So maybe there is more to be said about sticking to the tiering taking the "best avialable" as opposed to going into the draft with a set plan on who you will take with what pick. With that said, there is still considerable flexibility.

I do agree Robert that if I would have kept my #1 pick I would be sitting with Foster in my backfield and most likely Ryan and E Manning as my QBs. Instead I am struggling with Brees, Forte and Fitzgerald. This year I might knock it off to poor pre-draft planning.

Thankfully Brees has rewarded me nicely, as the top scoring player in the league. Unfortunately the early injury that Forte suffered and the inconsistency of Fitzgerald has caused further issues that COULD have been avoided.

What's a double header league? Sounds interesting.
