Thank you for all of the help this year! I joined an unknown league on NFL.com this year and played bad. My season is over. Not even a losers playoffs. Half of the teams quit during the byes. Hoping to make my own league next year and avoid another bad experiance. I think I'll go back to yahoo. I was not impressed with NFL.com. Also I missed being able to listen to Russ on the net. Not the live broadcasts but the "recordings". It gets a little busy at my house around 6pm. Good luck to all of you!

John

I haven't played nfl.com, but I have only heard bad things. Also from my experience unless you know all the people or their is money involved peope will give up if they aren't winning. Probably try to stay away from the free internet leagues.

John it makes a big difference when you play with guys you know rather than an anonymous league over whatever fantasy site. I did it one year and much like your experience, it sucks when half the teams drop out because they are losing and other teams don't even set their line ups. What kind of competition is that? I think you will find it more rewarding to run your own league and hopefully get people you know and who won't quit midway through the season. All the best...

During preseason I even posted on FFS to try and get in someones league. This league was the worst and I do not really blame people for quiting. -1 per incomplete -15 for lost fumble. If I can not get a group of real players I will pony up some cash just to be able to have fun. It just sucks to be completely done so early in the season. Why not have a losers bracket?

Graham to some degree. Even though we have a big entry fee I wrote off my season many weeks ago. I did not have the players, thanks in part to injury to compete. Even buying "talent" off the wire wouldn't have been a worthwhile option.

Our ESPN league at work runs a loser's bracket for bragging rights. But even that doesn't keep parties interested in playing out the season.

Glenn we have weekly payouts too, but those winnings usually go to offset the entry fee at the end of the season. Rarely do I collect any money up front, then again being a close group of friends we trust everyone will pony up when the time comes.
