9-7 was not what I was expecting in week 13. Ineptitude by the Cardinals, Lions, Bears, 49ers, Ravens, and Giants, plus the inspirational play of the Chiefs after the tragic events of Saturday all combined to take a perfectly good week and turn it into disappointment. Such is life, though!

I now stand at 125-66-1 for the season and with only 64 total games left, the goal of reaching 180 correct is highly unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. Luckily, I feel very good about my picks this week and think I can at least keep the goal a remote possibility.

Here are my week 14 NFL game predictions:

Denver 34, Oakland 20
Atlanta 28, Tampa Bay 24
Washington 23, Baltimore 20
Chicago 24, Minnesota 20
Cincinnati 31, Dallas 27
Cleveland 17, Kansas City 13
Jacksonville 20, NY Jets 17
Tampa Bay 38, Philadelphia 27
Pittsburgh 24, San Diego 17
Buffalo 23, St. Louis 20
Indianapolis 23, Tennessee 16
San Francisco 27, Miami 10
Seattle 26, Arizona 13
NY Giants 29, New Orleans 28
Green Bay 28, Detroit 24
Houston 30, New England 27

There you have it: my week 14 NFL game predictions.

Dallas had to make it interesting last week against Philadelphia, but they managed to get the win so I nailed another Survivor Pool Lock. That makes me 11-2 on the season in the locks. Here are the weekly picks and results:

Week 1 (W; 27-23) Detroit over St. Louis
Week 2 (L; 18-20) New England over Arizona
Week 3 (L; 24-27) New Orleans over Kansas City
Week 4 (W; 38-14) Houston over Tennessee
Week 5 (W; 45-3) San Francisco over Buffalo
Week 6 (W; 23-20) Atlanta over Oakland
Week 7 (W; 21-14) Minnesota over Arizona
Week 8 (W; 24-15) Green Bay over Jacksonville
Week 9 (W; 31-13) San Diego over Kansas City
Week 10 (W; 28-7) Seattle over NY Jets
Week 11 (W 30-23) Denver over San Diego
Week 12 (W; 34-10) Cincinnati over Oakland
Week 13 (W; 38-33) Dallas over Philadelphia

I don't have many great teams left to choose from. Keeping in true Survivor Pool format, I won't take a team I've used in a prior week and that makes the pickings slim for the best bets. I am a bit uncomfortable with my lock this week as I don't like picking against a team two weeks in a row. Especially a team that can be dangerous. The Eagles almost cost me last week and could do so this week. But there are few other games I feel as strongly about available for me to choose from. I am banking on the need for a win by Tampa Bay to keep their slim playoffs hopes alive, and the rolling over of the Eagles defense continues to be a constant.

My Survivor Pool Lock for Week 14 is: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Philadelphia Eagles.

My gut was telling me not to pick Carolina last week, but I did anyway. Bad move. Trust your gut. Pickings are getting slim late in the season. I am going Browns this week at home. Don't love picking a sub .500 team, but atleast they are playing a worse team and their D has been playing well lately, so has Weeden.

Hou-W, Cinci-W, GB-L, ATl-W, Chi-W,Pitt-L,NE-W, SF-W, Det-W, Sea-W, Dal-W, Den-W, Car-L, Cle-? (10-3)

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
