I laughed when my opponents kicker got 1 point for him on Thursday night. I'm not laughing anymore, now that Bryant scored me a whopping 2 points today. It's funny but the whole season, and getting in the playoffs, will probably come down to just the fact I didn't pick up Prater or Bironas and scored at least another 10-12 points from the kicking position this week. Who'd have ever thought the kicker, in week #14, would decide your whole season.? LOL! Goes to show the value of kicking in a dome, like Bironas today.

Tell me about it. I benched Janikowski (1 pt) to play Zeurlein (1 pt) in one league and dropped Janikowski (1 pt) to acquire Connor Barth (3 pts) in another.

Heck of a time for the kickers to go dead

Imagine those in the playoffs that have Gould and maynot have a bench kicker as I believe few of us carry an extra kicker when the playoffs roll around.

That'd be tough, guess a guy carries an extra kicker next year or eats the points. I think there's a certain point in the season you may just go for Dome kickers every week. A lot of outdoor kickers were terrible today

I am still finding the ratings on the analyzer are skewing players. Example: Mine told me to play SUCCOP over TYNES in another league I'm in... So I drafted Succop... I put him in to start, and at the last second, I played Tynes. I'd wouldn't have lost me the week. I'm just saying that with kickers, I play my gut.

Funny, I never pay much attention to kickers but this past week Tynes was available and I dropped Gould for him? I still would have won the game but he gave me the high point payout for the week.

I switched kickers in both leagues. I lost one because of the switch. I won the other because of the switch. Both games were very tight.

I ended up losing by 5 points and not getting in the playoffs, pretty close call....the kicker was one of my reasons. Another was the LA had the Bengals DEF highly ranked and the Browns a lot lower......with the opponents both had...Cowboys and Chiefs....you'd think that'd have been switched around.I ended up getting 5 from the Bengals and the Browns scored 17.

Each week I try making that "informed guess" on my kicker knowing those extra points can be valuable. Unfortunately with all the stats, history, etc it still can be unpredictable - I just try to give myself a better chance. Personally, I picked up Tynes two weeks ago after someone dropped him and been happy.

A bit OT and only my own thought on making the playoffs. While getting in may require winning that last game, it's ultimately based on a 14 or 15 game season record. I'd choose not to, but look back at the losses, see what player(s) were on the bench outscoring a starter, and contributing to that loss. In the end it's likely multiple choices through the season rather than that one player... Of course in some cases, any lineup combination still would not have helped.

In my case, one week I was complacent with my defense and didn't pick up a D I'd seriously considered. Felt it wasn't that important, and oops...I lost because of it. Last week, I ignored a player's trend and history (and the LUA!), expecting a breakout (as did most all thought). Instead another mediocre week and another loss. Of course if I bench him this week, he'll go off lol!

Just my two cents for what it's worth; only my observation and not meant as a negative or "flame"!
