Even for us so-called savvy fantasy football vets!

On my way to sound check this morning I took one last look at my lineup which was Stafford, Alfred Morris, Megatron, Cruz, V-Jax and Pita.

I know better....1st round of he playoffs...dance with who brung ya...I know go with your gut...don't get wrapped up in weather and match-ups...I'm a Moderator, I hand out advice...have handed that one out on countless posts...I know not to chase the match-ups...it's burned me time and time again...so just look at it Drumaster and go to sound check.

That lineup nets me 111.3 at the end of Sunday night...I'm done and my opponent has 62 points with only Owen Daniels to go...end of the story The Drumaster moves on to the 2nd round...except...I DON'T HEED MY OWN DAMN ADVICE!!!

I know it's dumb to chase the match-up, I know you play your studs...I know you dance with who brung ya...so I don't do any of that and swap...Bryce Brown for Morris because he has the much better match-up vs. Tampa and I swap out Randall Cobb for V-Jax because that Lions/Packers game is going to be a shoot out...the end result is I only score 85.4 points.

I leave almost 30-points on my bench of guys I've been playing all year and now face a dog fight to stay in it. Now if providence shines on me and I hang in there I state to you in a loud clear voice.

DON'T BE A JACKASS LIKE ME...PLAY YOUR STUDS...DANCE WITH WHO BRUNG YA...FORGET THE STINKING MATCH-UPS THE ONLY REASON YOU SIT ONE OF YOUR GUYS IS INJURY...PERIOD...HERE ENDTH THE LESSON...I'M SUCH A FREAKIN GOMER!

I hear you....FF can be so much fun when your winning yet so very frustrating when you lose or think you will lose. Two time champ here in a competitive league but the "3 Peat" seems lost.

Sproles didn't bring me to the dance so to speak with a league record of 7-6. He's generally a stud in years past but hasn't been so much this year and has been hardly getting the ball. I sit him for FJAX due to the match up of FJAX being at home although one can argue that Sproles had a good match up as well since the Giant LB's have a difficult time covering players. FJAX gets me some (2) points while Sproles would have netted me (20) or an additional (18) points that gives me a lead that is probably out of reach even with my opponent having a player on Monday Night.

This year probably isn't meant to be but then again there have been years when had I not had the first round bye and had to play in week one of the playoffs I lose. Lucky me I have the bye in those previous years so it'd doesn't matter....I then win our division championship and then go on to week 16 and win the league championship. You can analysis FF in so many ways that it can make you go crazy.

Thank you for the advice in years past Michael...... and there is always next year.

Well I believe my advice did make a difference for others, aside from D.alexander, it looked like a good sit on paper.

I can handle losing but when I coach myself out of a loss (hopefully not) that's just hard for me to deal with.

My league switched to decimal scoring some 5-6 years ago...I hold the distinction of losing by .01 points, I also hold the distinction of losing by over 100 points trust me the 100 point loss was much easier to deal with...I got my but kicked, didn't have a lineup that could beat the guy...the .01 loss...I'm still bitter about!
