8-8 sucks.

It not only demolishes any chance I had for getting to 180, but it also makes 170 a whole lot tougher with only 2 weeks left to go as I would need to hit on 29 of the remaining 32 games. Impossible? No. Likely? No.

So, by going a break even 8-8 in week 15, I now sit at a record of 141-81-1 for the season. Here's hoping week 16 gives me an undefeated week in the picks for Christmas.

Atlanta 31, Detroit 24
Miami 24, Buffalo 17
Pittsburgh 20, Cincinnati 16
Indianapolis 21, Kansas City 13
Houston 28, Minnesota 13
Dallas 34, New Orleans 31
New England 38. Jacksonville 21
Carolina 28, Oakland 16
San Diego 17, NY Jets 13
St. Louis 24, Tampa Bay 17
Green Bay 28, Tennessee 20
Washington 24, Philadelphia 17
Denver 31, Cleveland 10
Chicago 20, Arizona 13
Baltimore 26, NY Giants 23
San Francisco 20, Seattle 17

There you have it: my week 16 NFL game predictions.

At the very east my lock for week 15 came in by 21 points. That brings me to 12-3 in the locks and hopefully I can at least close the season well in them. Here are the week by week results so far in 2012:

Week 1 (W; 27-23) Detroit over St. Louis
Week 2 (L; 18-20) New England over Arizona
Week 3 (L; 24-27) New Orleans over Kansas City
Week 4 (W; 38-14) Houston over Tennessee
Week 5 (W; 45-3) San Francisco over Buffalo
Week 6 (W; 23-20) Atlanta over Oakland
Week 7 (W; 21-14) Minnesota over Arizona
Week 8 (W; 24-15) Green Bay over Jacksonville
Week 9 (W; 31-13) San Diego over Kansas City
Week 10 (W; 28-7) Seattle over NY Jets
Week 11 (W 30-23) Denver over San Diego
Week 12 (W; 34-10) Cincinnati over Oakland
Week 13 (W; 38-33) Dallas over Philadelphia
Week 14 (L; 21-23) Tampa Bay over Philadelphia
Week 15 (W; 24-3) Miami over Jacksonville

While I have used up most of the good teams, luckily there are some trends I can rely on. Oakland travels to the east coast like unrefrigerated milk across the Sahara in summer; it usually stinks by the end. While Carolina has no playoff aspirations left, they've been playing at a high level and have won 3 of their last 4 games. Cam Newton has been as hot as any QB and even though the Raiders gave up almost no yardage and no points last week, they are still the 28th ranked fantasy run defense, the 27th ranked fantasy pass defense, and tied for last for most points allowed to opponents in games this season. That's the type of trifecta I like betting against on the road.

My week 16 NFL Survivor Pool Lock of the Week is: the Carolina Panthers over the Oakland Raiders.

Happy Holidays all and Good Luck this weekend!

I'd like to think that it's because the Panthers have gotten better but I actually believe it's because he's used up most everyone and this is the only somewhat descent choice he's got left...LOL

“I am hosting one league on NFL.com as well. Personally I thing there projections are way out of sync and have been less than reliable. I completely ignored them all year and instead took input from the LA at FFS which has proven to be much more accurate”. (Hooked 5 year Member)
