Risky Proposition? We see and hear about RB coming off 300 plus carries not being able to reproduce those numbers the following season as A.P stat do show a decline in follwoing seasons still very productive. leaving no doubt about the quality of the player and making him an exception to the rule.

We see and hear of RB's coming of a major knee injury's not returning to the form and become non-exsistant the following year. Peterson shreds his knee and is back in a unprecdented nine months to shred the league in rushing- An exception to the rule.

Leagues feared him in the 2012 drafts, In one of my drafts he was selected 5:08 and needles to say that teams first 3 Calvin, Julio Jones and AJ Green did dominate for his third consecutive CS.

Now even more challenging the dredded Madden curse, unfornately I believe their is something to it as once again through out the years we have beared witness to this super-natural phenomenon.

Is A.P once again an exception to the rule?

Does A.P once again defy the odds?

Will A.P be there in the 5th round again?

Well one thing to remember is Megatron broke the receiving yards record last year while on the cover so maybe this won't be so bad.

I am concerned about Harvin leaving. Will this have any effect on A.P's performance.

Probably not.

Harvin left but with Jennings, and the first round speedster I think that it is no harder for Peterson. I actually think with the WR corps getting healthier Childs, Simpson, Jennings, that Peterson should be just fine....

After what he did last season, AP should be the number 1 pick in any fantasy draft in 2013. Madden curse; loss of Harvin; etc, none of these things should prevent that. I was one of those who was wary about him last season and avoided him in redraft leagues (I would have taken him in round 3 of a draft, but he never fell that far in any of mine). I won't make that mistake twice. I'll accept any risk for the type of reward he brings.

I actually think the Vikings are better at WR this year with Greg Jennings and my top rookie WR Cordarrelle Patterson. But it doesn't matter who you have at WR if the guy throwing the football (in this case Christian Ponder) just isn't that good.

Ask Larry Fitzgerald

Have to agree with Russ and besides Barry Sanders is the cover this year from what I see. They did a huge poll and Barry won...I'm an avid Madden Football guy so I'm pretty sure on this one....I take AP in a heartbeat.

I don't think you'll find Barry on the Xbox One and PS4 covers.

Look, my first disagreement with Michael (Welcome back, buddy). I agree with James that he is a bit of a risk with no Harvin in the lineup. That said, like Russ mentioned nearly everyone in our league was wary of AP, now 12 months later he is poised on the cover of Madden and considered to be the #1 overall.

Ponder was effective last year, not great mind you but he had some good games getting the Vikes moving and finding the endzone. Another year with the younger WRs and TE and I think he will be solid as long as he get some time to throw and the fact he has AP to fall back on.
