TE-Rob Housler

New Coach Bruce Arians gets a nod for finally addressing a painfully obvious need the Cardinals have had for years when he drafted monster- sized offensive lineman Jonathan Cooper in the first round. By doing this, he has filled an immediate need in helping to protect new QB Carson Palmer.

Palmer will be looking all day for superstar WR Larry Fitzgerald, who will be double and triple teamed in the defensive secondary which will open up the seams for tight end Rob Housler.

We all know that throughout the years, Palmer panics in the pocket when pressured and loves to dump off passes to his tight end.

Last season, while playing for the Raiders, Palmer made a fantasy star out of unknown Brandon Myers, who caught 79 passes. Look for Housler to be the recipient of many passes in 2013. Just donít reach for him as a TE # 1. Draft him late as a TE # 2 and stick him on your fantasy bench. He could have a breakout PPR season.

James, I like this pick. Problem is the leagues I play in you can't carry a 2nd TE because of bench restraints. This year TE's are dropping like flies but I still can't bring myself to take a TE early? Already noted your Cook sleeper, but Housler has my interest because I grabbed Myers early last year and rode him to a championship. Do you think either one could be a servicable #1?

I like Cook for standard or TD leagues. If he is going to breakout, this is the year for him. High reward if he hits. Bradford has very little talent around him to throw to. The Rams have the super rookie but how many rookie WR's hit it big their first year? Very few.

I like Housler only for PPR. He will get the garbage safety valve catches when Fitz is double teamed. I still think he is a TE # 2 that could put up # 1 numbers in PPR only.

It sure is Glenn!

Update today from Cardinals camp is that Palmer and Housler are developing a good relationship on the field. It looks like the Cardinals want to use Housler deep down the seams.

I will take a shot on him in my 18 round drafts in PPR. He has been off of the fantasy radar in all the leagues I have been mock drafting in.

James, would you hold off until all other owners grab their TE's (while loading up on RB's & WR's) and then take Housler as your #1 TE? I doubt any of the other 11 guys in my league would take him as a #1

Assuming I use this strategy and wait until all others select a TE, I should be looking at him being available along with guys like Gates, Bennett, Dickson & Davis. Would you take him over those guys or take a proven guy and wait on Housler as your #2 TE?

No, I would not take him as a TE# 1. But a TE # 2 yes. And only in PPR.

I don't like Gates at all. I think he's through. Dickson--Maybe, I would take Bennett and Davis over Housler though.
