Sorry kids...I know I'm the lone voice in the wilderness (won't be the first time) but I just don't see all the hype here and lofty predictions. Is he good yes is he top 5 HE-double toothpicks no...I doubt seriously I'd put him top 10.

Call me dopey but I'll quote the stats/facts as I interpret them (key phrase BTW)

In 2011 and 2010 he couldn't beat out Fred Jackson...in case all you pundits haven't noticed Fred Jackson is still there

Yes in 2012 he was ranked #8 the Buffalo offense ran by Head Coach Chan Gailey and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick were there and they ranked 18th in the NFL...In case you didn't notice they are both gone replace by a first time COLLEGE experience only head coach from Syracuse Doug Marone and QB's Kevin (freaking) Kolb and a hurt rookie QB...who will eventually take over PROVIDED he gets healthy.

Does the term 8-in-the-box and RBBC ring any bells boys (and girls)...you all go ahead draft him early...I'd love to have him but where I would take he will be long gone...and you will be full of regret and bitchin on the boards about how the LA is full of Scooby Doo-Doo as well as those who suggested you take him 1st/2nd round and I'll be sitting back with a great big I TOLD YOU SO that of course I won't use because that's NOT my style but save this post...lets see who's right and who's wrong...

Good luck!!!

I wouldn't take Fred nor Spiller. I stay away from "bills and browns" players pretty much always.

What are you missing? Research.

Spiller gained over 1700 total yards from scrimmage last season in 250 carries in a split with Fred Jackson. That was 5th best in the league among all running backs. Pretty good stuff for splitting carries with Jackson until he was injured

You can't tell me defenses respected Fitzpatrick so they did not stack the box last year? Marrone has vowed to use Spiller in all situations which tells me he will be in the slot or the Bills will run special pass packages for him.

Spiller will now be the goal line back as well.

I was not high on Spiller until I sat down and did some serious research on him.

I think you should feel great for getting him that high in the first round. Especially in a PPR league. Many passes will flow in his direction.

My statement was based upon opinion and not stats moreso. I can see Spiller taking all the runs in Buffalo, but in my opinion.. they will put to much on him. I would say if he stays healthy and doesn't get beat up he could be a great back but then again.. he's with the bills.

James I don't normally call "bull" with you but Fred Jackson injured his knee ligament in week ONE of the 2012 season (look it up) he continued to play for while but running backs and knee ligaments don't go together and prior to that CJ Spiller couldn't unseat him.

You're not going to honestly tell me that vaunted QB tandem of Kolb and rook Manuel is going to garner more success than Fitz did who threw for 24 TD's and over 3000 yards last year by the way, so there wasn't allot of 8-in the box for Spiller last year...he'll see a bunch this year...book it! Ain't no DC respecting that passing game plus every DC in the league has had a year of tape on Spiller. He's having to learn a new system as is the team... Gailey was there for CJ's first three years...

I don't give a rats behind what a new college head coach in nfl says...what... he's gonna come in and say ah we just signed a loser QB and an un-proven rookie from Florida State and we are going to play RBBC because our passing game is gonna suck and and we have an aging Frd Jackson and undersized Spiller who's not gonna hold up to the pounding.

Buddy Ryan was quoted as saying "you got a winner in town" yea...how well did that work out Phoenix.

You go ahead and drink that Kool-aid...I choose reality and history...I'm not saying Spiller is gonna be washed up...I'm saying he ain't top ten and not worth a 1st or 2nd round pick...my opinion...you have yours and in 95% of the cases I agree with you...this is one of the 5% I don't...we'll see.

(Come on James I don't just spout...I research)

Ok Michael,

Then explain to me why in every publication I have read this year, Spiller is a top # 8 back in PPR? Mostly a top # 5 back in PPR???

Opinion is great, but looking at what kind of offense the Bills will be running this year compared to last year is an eye opener. Spiller was not the focal point of the running attack until fast Freddie went down for good.

I am calling "Bull" on you for not looking at the total picture, which is what we all should do.

Just like earlier in the summer you called Jamaal Charles a "Bruiser" of a running back which is not what he is at all. And several here called you out on that miss. You have to blend in opinion with fact to get a good read on fantasy forecasts. And saying that Kolb and Manuel can't duplicate what Fitzpatrick did last year is just plain silly.

I would never have a problem taking Spiller mid to late first round in a PPR draft.

As for injury, any player can get injured. It does not matter how big or tough he is. Ask AP about that.

What you can do is indentify which players always seemed to be injured all of the time. And the risk it is to take those players.

Im kinda leaning towards James on this one though I do believe the BIlls may have a rough road ahead, we just never know what the season will hold.

One thing we can all be sure of is that Spiller will be used, muy mucho and if that eighth man misses (which Spiller does well)

SEE YA!!!

PPR I'd take over Richardson

I thought like Michael did before I took a good look at Spiller's new coach. Here is the beauty of picking him early. Spiller will be a check-down magnet in PPR.

Kolb will get blitzed to death, creating more short passes to Spiller. The new coach should have a very interesting fast paced offensive approach this year. It's predicated on the hurry up-tempo theory.

We will see.

yup! I am concerned about Kolbs concussion history as long as he realizes do not throw to the Spiller on the left or the Spiller on the right, throw it in between the two of them
