I have a trade offer on the table that I would like to jump on but am not overly excited about. I would receive Boldin and Gates but I would be giving up J.Thomas and Antonio Brown?

If you ask me Gates is done as a TE. I have a hard time seeing him as the impact TE he was prior to the foot injury. Thomas is young, had one good game, but I do like his prospects more than Gates in the DEN offense. So while you get an upgrade at TE, I think you lose a bit at WR with getting Boldin in return for Brown. Kaepernick did look Boldin's way 17 times in week 1. Nothing to sneeze at. Who knows, even at 33 he might put together a career type of year for SF.
