I don't think it was a case of Cassel not being able to beat out Ponder, but rather the Vikings weren't having a real competition. They are doing everything they can to try to show they didn't completely blow it when they drafted him. Sooner or later though, they're going to realize Ponder isn a backup type of QB and his clone (Cassel) ain't any better
