Okay, so the header line probably wasn't original. But it's true. And with it comes another couple of fantasy football tips that need to be minded as we go forward in the 2007 off-season. With the trade of Trent Green to the Miami Dolphins, Damon Huard becomes the new starting QB for KC, and Green becomes the new starter for the Dolphins. This trade changes the fantasy football predictions for both of these QB's, plus also effects Daunte Culpepper. Let's start with Huard.

Damon Huard started 8 games in 2006 for KC when Green was out with a concussion. Huard went 5-3 in those games. He tossed 10 TD's, had 1 INT, and threw for 1,684 yards in those starts. Those are nice numbers, but not awe-inspiring numbers. A career backup, those numbers are almost the same as what he's done in 9 prior seasons combined. If Huard really had this type of skill, it stands to reason that he would have gotten a chance at some time earlier. The Chiefs drafted Brodie Croyle last year to sit and learn for a couple of years before turning to him. I get the feeling we'll see the team turning to Croyle before the 2007 season is done. Huard is a risk as anything more than a backup fantasy QB, but some are going to hype him because of his numbers last year.

Green steps in as Miami's starter, but he didn't look sharp when he came back and played last season. That's why the Chiefs wanted to trade him. The Dolphins have a suspect OL so Green may have to do more dodging in 2007. The 'Fins are learning a new offensive system, and while the talent is there, none of the talent there has lived up to expectation in recent years. It's hard to see Green as being much higher on the 2007 fantasy football rankings than Damon Huard.

Finally, there's Culpepper. I really thought Culp was going to be good for the Dolphins, but he had serious struggles in 2006 as it appears that he tried to come back from his knee injuries too soon. Some players can come back quicker than others as everyone heals differently, so while Carson Palmer was able to come back and miraculously play, Culpepper wasn't ready. Still might not be really ready, but he's going to try again in 2007. However, he'll likely have to start out as a backup wherever he ends up. But depending on the situation, Culpepper could be a surprise and provide some fantasy football help in the second half of the 2007 regular season. I haven't given up on Daunte yet.

I think KC is going to struggle this year and Huard as well. Same goes for Green. So much talk the past three months about Greens trade, then it finally gets done. By week three we won't even care about either of these QB's. Come on Croyle!
