What a mess the Cleveland Browns QB situation is. If you're a member of our community and have seen the preliminary fantasy football predictions for the Browns QB's, you know what I mean. Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, and Brady Quinn all are projected to gather stats in the course of the 2007 season, with each of them being high risks for performance or holding onto the job.

Going into training camp, it appears Derek Anderson will be the #1, but that's a far cry from him being the #1 going into the season. Charlie Frye was last years starter, but has fallen out of favor. His 64.1 completion percentage in 2006 was outstanding for a second year QB, but his 17 interceptions with only 10 TD's, plus a propensity for fumbling is what killed him. What's kind of surprising is that Anderson's numbers weren't any better but he gets a pass for it. Quinn steps in as the most NFL ready QB from the draft, but there's always a jump up in competition when going from college to the NFL and it is a valid concern regarding his confidence if he gets knocked around early.

That said, the Browns would be better off just throwing Quinn out there. Neither Frye nor Anderson are in their long term plans. Why not get Quinn all the first team reps right away? Get him going on developing a rapport with Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow. Get him used to handing the ball off to Jamal Lewis. Get him used to the nuances and tendencies of the offensive line. Do it from day 1. Don't drag the feet on a contract. We know he's going to want more than his draft slot dictates because he is a QB, so structure an incentive laden deal. Really, it shouldn't be that difficult. It would be the best thing for this team, both in the short term, and in the long run.

Not to mention it would be the best thing for those fantasy players who will be looking for an free agent injury filler at QB long about week 7.
On any given Sunday any fantasy team can beat another, only to still lose Monday night.

Brady Quinn will be the starter come no later than week #4 of the NFL. Good news is there is some talent at WR, TE position.

Russ good advice, unless you play in an IDP league, other than K Winslow II, you really need to stay away from the Browns all together.
Draft: 3QB's 4RB's 5WR's 3TE's 2K 4DL 5LB 4DB.

Start: 1QB 2RB's 2WR's 1TE 1K 2DL 2LB 2DB.

PPR League: 1PPR, 1 pt 10 yds rush/receive, 1pt 10yds pass, 6 pts TD
