I wouldn't make that deal. You may be getting the better end of it in the short term, but I can't say you would be for the long term. I still question whether Parker is big enough to take the pounding of being a feature RB for too many more seasons and I don't know if Roethlisberger is any type of long term upgrade over Leinart.

To me, this trade is a step sideways. And I don't make trades that are a step sideways. A trade should be done to give upgrade you (and in dynasty leagues, upgrade the immediate upgrade must be weighed against long term potential). I don't even know the difference between McG and Parker in 2007 is going to be that different. And in the long term, I prefer McG of the two.

no. leinart is on the rise and has young solid wrs group that can all grow together. agree with russ on the parker/mcgahee situation.

Steve - your tag line kills me. As for this trade, have to agree with you both. I see Leinart as a future star and Parker (still has to prove he can take it) and Roethlisberger has to show he was not a good QB on a great team.

Don't get me wrong I do like Parker allot, we have to see what McGahee will don in Baltimore!

Why i thought about making this trade was i would be starting Bulger and everyone says Parker is the better back. But My concern is W.McGahee injure past. Both backs are going into there 4th season. Parker is a year older, But Parker didn't play much in college and his first season with steelers. Where McGahee played at miami(Got Hurt) and started in buffalo all 3 seasons. That's why i figured FWP had the edge.

For QB I know Leinart has better weapons, but will he be cursed playing in Arizona? My thoughts on Big Ben if he can stay healthy i think he can be pretty productive. But the edge has to go to Leinart.
That's for the help guys. I guess i will stay put thanks!

I would also keep Leinart and McGahee... I believe they will be the better combination now and for the years to come...

Right now it's a toss up, Baltimore has had a power running back and has an aging O-line, and now they have a speed running back and an even older offensive line, so I think Parker would be a better value there, and if you're in a points per reception league, Parker may see more swing passes out of the backfield in Bruce Arians offense.

Unfortunately, the flip side would be trading Roethlisberger for Leinart, I think Ben will have recover good from last year, but he just does not put up the fantasy numbers that Leinart could with his WR corps.

My gut feeling though tells me to make the trade to improve your running game with Parker, and that Roethlisberger will have a solid year, but that Leinart might not have as big a year in Arizona as most think, and that a lot of the glory will be taken by Edgerrin James.

If worst comes to worst, you're stuck with Ben one year, trade him next and you still have an improvement over McGahee who is not the most durable.

I wouldn't make the deal... Yes Parker is a slight upgrade to McGahee, but Leinart will have great value in years to come and Bulger has ingury risk... What you need to do is get better WR... try for under-rated Joey Galloway or Braylon Edwards or even DJ Hackett or Reggie Brown
